I bought an iPod Nano 4th Gen last year to accompany me in my runs. I think an iPod is great for running. I bought it from the money I saved in a piggy bank. I do still have one and still have the habit of dropping 100 peso bills at the end of the week if I have extra money left.
This year, Apple released the 5th Gen Ipod Nano with FM and video recording. And now, they have an new range of Ipod products. One thing that is interesting is the completely redesigned Ipod Nano 6th Gen which is now smaller like a shuffle and has a touchscreen.

For those who are joining the Camsur Marathon this coming September 26, 2010, here's a preview of the route. Macky is a forum member here at Takbo.ph. He and his five other running friends did more than a 30K long run of the actual 42K route of the Camsur Marathon.
It's a good idea to run and study the route prior to the event so you can prepare better and make adjustments. Here's a quick account of their practice run and some photos of the route.

It started as a great day with a 13.5KM run in the island of Corregidor. It was very serene and very close to nature. Only 2 vehicles passed by during the entire run. The sound around the island made me stop the music on my iPod. I listened to the chirping birds, the rustling of the leaves and the strong blow of the winds. It was a perfect run.
But later in the morning, we had a swim on the beach. While swimming and jumping over the big waves near the shore, I stepped on a rock with some pointed shells on it. I sustained a long and deep cut on my right foot.
Twelve days to go and about 400 slots left. The FortStriders Club will be having the FS Run on September 12, 2010 at The Fort. This will be a 5/10/16K running event. Registration is still going but a few more slots left. Availof the cheaper race fee when you register before the event.

Free Running Clinic: Natural Running on September 3

There's a free clinic to be conducted Arland Macasieb. Arland who is an 8-time Ironman finisher, including the recent Ironman Camsur Event last August 22, holds a Master’s Degree on Exercise Science from Montclair State University in the U.S. and is a 3-TIME Philippine National Triathlon Champion (2001, 2005 & 2006).
Fresh updates on 1st Figaro Fun Run happening on Saturday [September 04, 2010] to be held at the Fort Bonifacio Global City. There are 3,000 expected runners on a 3k, 5k and 10k distances. This event will be the first ever fun run organized by leading Filipino coffee chain brand; Figaro Coffee Company. This is for the benefit of Figaro Foundation that helps our Filipino coffee farmers around the country.
The assembly time of the said event will start by 5:00 am at Katipunan Circle [along 26th st.]. There will be quick breakfast to all runners, a grab for free. Courtesy by valued sponsors such as Gardenia Bread, San Marino Corned Tuna, Meadow Fresh Milk, and unlimited coffee by Figaro Coffee as well.
Registration is extened until September 3 at Figaro Boni High Street only. The registration will start by 12noon upto 4pm only. Few slots are left.
