Timex Ironman i-Control Series
Timex has released a new addition to its IronMan watch series. The Timex IronMan Sleek iControl converges with the Apple iPod. You can use the watch to control the basic music navigation features of the iPod. Now, you can simple put that iPod on your pocket or backpack and enjoy your favorite music while running.
iControl has a transmitter that allows you to move to the next or previous track, increase or decrease the volume and play/pause the music. Of course, since its a Timex IronMan watch, it has a chronograph, 50 lap memory, timer, alarm, and the Indiglo night light.
However, the iPod controls are limited. You can't move up a menu or change to another playlist. You have to use your iPod buttons to do that. And since it also use a dongle that will be attached to the iPod, you can no longer use the Nike+ Kit. So choose between the two gadgets.
I was able to drop by at Timex Glorietta and saw the new IronMan watches on display. It is available in 7 different color combinations. They have pink and light green for the ladies and black and gray colors for the men. Another drawback was the price. While it costs 100-125 USD in the US, they sell it here for 7,290 PHP. That is almost twice the price of the previous models. I dont think it is worth it for those simple iPod control features.
Overall, the Timex IronMan Sleek iControl give you an easier running experience with an iPod. Not to mention that your Ipod will be much safer and hidden from prying eyes while running. It's a nice to have gadget for the runners.
