Photos From the Hong Kong Marathon 2010
I would usually bring a camera and take pictures when I run in new places. But I made an exception with the Hong Kong Marathon . I didn’t bring my camera with me while running the full marathon. I can’t afford to make a stop and take pictures. I would love to take pictures. There were a lot of runners who did take photos especially at the bridge. They would really stop and find a spot to take their photos. I envy them but the result of my full marathon might take a bitter ending if I would stop just to take pictures.
Quennie was at the finish area during the event. So while waiting, she was able to get a few photos on how the race went. Check out some Hong Kong Marathon photos at the finish area.
Even Starbucks was ready for the runners.
Hong Kong loves this marathon event. The posters and ads are all over the city.
My race kit for the full marathon from New Balance
Hong Kong Marahton 2010 uses this type of timing chip. It is not disposable
and needs to be returned to the organizers for your time to be recorded.
It also says Made in Holland.
Bananas for the runners at the finish area.
Medals for the finishers.
Mascot? Cheerers? They must be waiting for someone.
I ran for the whale sharks last year. They ran for the sharks.
One of the three guys to made their proposal after running. They all got a Yes!
One couple were actually Pinoys. This was features in the TV that night.
In many of my races, I don’t get freebies because I finished a bit slow.
In Hong Kong, I got 3 loot bags for finishing slow.
Volunteers for the baggage area.
Timing Chips are collected at the end of the race. I thought,
I can bring you home. The chips, i mean.
There’s no better way to cool down after a long run than ice cream.
I finished. 5:29:46. My sweetest full marathon to date.
Hong Kong Marathon made a cover story the following day in many newspapers.
This doesn’t look like a good time to be the magazine cover.
