I just finished Dumaguete 3Q Marathon
I am missing in action in the races in Manila today. I just arrived from Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. Instead of joining the Unilab Run United 2 to complete my Runrio Trilogy, I booked a flight last July when I got the confirmation that the Dumaguete Adventure Run will push through. It’s three quarters of a marathon which is about 31.5KMs. It’s an adventure since it brings you to the hills and mountains in Dumaguete.
Now on it fifth year, the Dumaguete Adventure Run is the one of the biggest in the city. Maybe next to Milo Marathon – Dumaguete. From simple 3Ks and 5Ks during Sunday at the Rizal Boulevard, the races became a 21K in 2008, a 28K in 2009 and now a 31.5K for 2010. It’s a simple run but runners here knows how to organize a good race.
Here are some pics and a full story of my stay in Dumaguete and the Adventure Run to follow soon.
The race started with a BANG! And I mean they used a Howitzer cannon for the gun start. Kabooom!!!
The route was partly exotic…
partly hilly…
and partly muddy.
After the race, I had a simple free meal and a plastic medal.
My pasalubong to Quennie… Dirty shoes and socks that she needs to clean up before the marathon on December 5. 😀
More about the Dumaguete 3Q Marathon on my succeeding posts.
