Unstuffing My Running Life
This is not a book about running but I was able to apply it. Quennie and I have been doing a lot of changes in the apartment as we prepare for Baby Gab to arrive. We need to tidy up the place and keep things in order. I bought the book Unstuff Your Life!: Kick the Clutter Habit and Completely Organize Your Life for Good by Andrew Millen. It’s not just about organizing things at home or work but also about organizing life. The author, Andrew Millen is a Professional Organizer. I never knew such career exists today.
Just last year, I accumulated several running stuff from singlets, shoes, race kits, accessories and more. At some point, my running stuff has been a mess at home and there will be times I would have a hard time looking for a simple race bib or the heart rate monitor.
The book Unstuff Your Life! is a good eye opener on how to keep things in order again. Some pointers are just the basics which Quennie and I would miss out due to being busy at work. Some pointers even include managing emails and digital files like documents and photos which was useful for me.
Most of all, I got to organize things related to running. We have to buy some furnitures to keep them neat and tidy.
As a new year resolution, Quennie and I did some unstuffing of our running life.
Caps and visors are placed at the back of the door.
I have two drawers for singlets and shorts. One drawer is for the singlets and shorts I actually use for the run. Another drawer are singlets and shorts I use at home. I like wearing them when sleeping because they are cool. Not shown is a plastic bag of singlets I would be donating.
Level One has the singlets and shorts I use for sleeping.
Level Two are the shorts and singlets for real running action.
We also got a shoe cabinet. It was necessary since our collection of shoes for running is getting big. Plus we have other shoes for the office and formal occasions. The top shelf is for formal occasions. The rest is occupied for running shoes.

The shoe cabinet has a drawer where I keep the gadgets and accesories I would use for the run. This helps me find these small items fast before going out the door. Shown here are the adidas LED light arm band, reflectorized arm strap, adidas miCoach, Garmin HRM, and the P.I. Band.

I bought plenty of books last 2010. It was part of my new year’s resolution to read at least 6 books in 2010. I finished reading 8 books. Some of them are for running. This is my collection of running related books so far. Many of them are for less than 300 Php which I found in Booksales. It takes luck to find a good deal.
My collection of running books. Also in the shelf are Blankets, The Four-Hour Work Week and The Lost Symbol.
There are still two more shelves of books below this.
One thing that has been scattered around the house are chargers. I have chargers for cellphones, Garmin, battery pack and other gadgets. We bought a nice native box where we now keep the chargers, earphones and other cables and connectors.
A nice compartment for those messy wires and connectors.
The book Unstuff Your Life is also available in Amazon.com. I bought my copy at National Bookstore for 675 Php.
How about you? How do you organize your running stuffs?
