Video: What Makes a Good Running Form?
Many new and aspiring runner would ask me how to run correctly. I would often wonder if there is indeed the right way to run or a muscle by muscle, bone by bone detail on how should a runner run. But running form seems to vary between all runners. Even champions and olympians vary in the way they run in order to win.
What I would often advice is how to achieve good running form. To me good running form is running in such a way as to minimize injuries and maximize the energy to go the distance.
Here is a great video from New Balance on good running form. It talks about four points in achieving this: (1) Posture, (2) Midfoot, (3) Cadence, and (4) Lean.
Watch the video below for the pointers.
Do you meet all the four pointers for good running form? I’m struggling with one of them but hopefully, with constant practice, I can achieve a better running form.
