Product Feature: Puma Faas 500
The Faas 500 is one of the Faas Collection from Puma. It is a lightweight neutral trainer for everyday training. It’s constructed with BioRide Technology, an integrated system that gives you a more natural and responsive ride. The unique rocker shape allows for a biomechanically efficient stride with an effortless toe-off. The flex grooves built across the tooling increase responsiveness while the full-length lateral groove in the midsole reinforces stability throughout the gait cycle.
Here are the features of the Puma Faas 500.

EverRide and EverTrack technologies for the outsoles make the Puma Faas 500 lightweight and durable. The EverRide are placed mostly at the forefoot to improve forefoot cushioning. The Evertrack are placed in high-wear areas.

Puma Faas 500 comes with an OrthoLite Sockliner. It’s a dual layer sockliner for more comfort, material regeneration, air circulation, and antimicrobial function.
Ortholite insoles adds comfort and air circulation inside the shoe.
The Faas 500 has a thick layer of midsole. The bigger the number, the more cushioning the Faas Collection have and the heavier the shoe gets. But I still find it light for it’s class.
The midsole is thick but very soft and very bouncy.
The upper of the shoe have mesh and synthetic suede materials. It makes the shoe looks sporty and classy.

The suede material makes it soft and comfortable at the heel.
The Faas 500 is one of the Puma Faas Collection. Puma has assigned each style a number, ranging from 100 to 1000. The lower number models, such as the Faas 300, have less cushioning and less structure, providing a lightweight, fast-paced trainer. As the number gets higher, additional cushioning and structure is added to the shoe. The higher number shoes, like the Faas 500, are perfect everyday neutral trainers.

Can it be use for trail running?
I dont think this is good for trail running. The material is suede which will not look great on mud. And the soles are not designed for rough terrain. Trails are unpredictable and demanding. I think the Faas 500 is best on the road and tracks.
I used non-trail shoes for trail runs in the past. Pwede naman but it is better with trail shoes. My ankles and sole hurts since there is little protection with non-trail shoes on rocks and uneven surfaces.
so is it safe to say that NB minimus is better as trail shoes?
Not entirely safe since the NB Minimus Trail is a minimalist shoe. It’s thin and lightweight. If you are used to running on minimalist shoes, then it may be a good choice. But if you prefer wearing a cushioned shoe, there are trail shoes designed for that too. The type of trail shoes that you can wear can be determined by the type of road shoes that you are already wearing.
I posted other topics under trail running below. Hope it helps.
