Running on Beaches and Bitches
We were in Negros last weekend. We went home so that Gab can visit and meet his relatives in Bacolod, Pontevedra and Hinigaran. They have been dying to see Gab in person after seeing his pictures in Facebook.
Of course, every time I am home, I would find time to run. It was the same weekend as the Milo Marathon in Bacolod. But my parents have different plan. We stayed on a beach 47 kms away from Bacolod on Saturday night. So I can’t join the Milo Marathon. Instead, I ran from one beach to another for a nice 7 km run.
I ran with the Vivobarefoot Ultras.
How about the bitches? Oh, there were plenty of them along the road with the studs. I have to walk and slow down to avoid being bitten.
Here are photos I took using Instagram for iPhone.
Starting Point. Shores of Paradiso Beach in Hinigaran.
Not the best shores to swim but the overnight rooms were better than the other option.
There were no other runners but I found this climber instead
harvesting some lambanog. Can you see him?
I’m on my way to the main road.
The road is mostly old asphalt and a stretch of dirt road ahead.
This is a karo which is being pulled by a carabao.
I love to ride them when I was a kid.
Dog Alert #1
Finally, I have reached the highway.
The highway looks calm early in the morning. But buses and jeeps drives very fast.
I took a right turn to Canonoy Beach Resort.
Dog Alert #2. Can you see what they are doing?
Dog Alert #3. This time, can you see what they are doing?
This lookes like a new beach resort. Never seen it before.
Entering Canonoy Beach Resort.
Canonoy’s shoreline looks a lot better than the one in Paradiso.
I swim a lot in here during my summer vacations.
Paradiso Beach is just at the other side.
I can take a short cut through the shores but where’s the fun in that.
My Garmin FR405 reads 3.71 kilometers already.
I spent a longer time running back to Paradiso. I took the time to stop and see the beauty of the country side. I took photos of blooming flowers.
Bananas were growing abundantly along the roads. Yummy.
A welcome sign that is very down to earth.
Gab once again leads my welcoming committee.
I started with a low batt already.
I didn’t get my distance and time for the run.
A duyan is great for a post-race relaxation.
How about you? How was your run last weekend?
astig ng duyan.. sarap dun.. presko at nakakarelax..
Dami ngang bitches. Baka may rabies pa yan. :))
Malamang meron. Kaya lakad na lang ako ng lakad kung may mga aso.
