Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 Rumors and Teasers?
The Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 is scheduled on February 5, 2012. This is a popular marathon for its route which give the runner a chance to run in the Skyway. For several years, the Condura Marathon has built a name as one of the premiere marathon in the country.
While the details of the marathon have not been announce yet, I have heard some chismis about it. I cannot verify if there are true since my sources are not reliable. Besides, a lot of things can still happen until the race day. Or these can be for Condura Marathon 2013 instead.
Here are the top 4 rumors about the Condura Marathon 2012.
1. Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 will start in Alabang.
We had a survey before if runners prefer the Condura Run to start in Alabang or in BGC. Most runners prefer BGC but wouldn’t mind if the run starts in Alabang. I wouldn’t mind either especially if the toll fees to Alabang are free for runners on the event.
2. Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 will start in the Skyway.
I know for a fact that the organizers of the Condura Marathon really want all runners to run on the Skyway. Not just the 21K or the 42K but all runners including the 3K runners. For next year, I heard that the starting line will be on the Skyway itself. I find that weird. It looks dull to start on the Skyway itself but it can be done.
3. Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 will start at midnight.
I almost fall off my seat with this one. A midnight marathon in the city sounds exciting and lighting at the Skyway won’t be a problem. The entire road would probably be well lighted. But the view on top of the Skyway would be like zero. Maybe the lights of the buildings will provide some spectacles but other than that, it still looks dull. And imagine running on early February morning. That will be cold.
4. Dean Karnazes is signing up for the Condura Marathon 2012.
Wow. Now this is far off the charts in the chismis meter. But in the book Run! which Dean Karnazes wrote, he said that he plans to run a marathon in all cities around the world starting November 2011. So will Dean Karnazes drop by the Philippines in time for the Condura Marathon 2012?
Again, this are just rumors and I have no evidence in which ones are true and which ones are not true. We just have to be patient for the final details to be released.
But if all four items are true, I find them as good move for the Condura Marathon.

I have heard the # 2 chismis days and weeks after last year’s Condura Marathon. But I hope the # 4 chismis would be true.
I know that this time its going to start at Festival mall.
Nah, BGC still the best place to start and end. And also,I think there are more runners coming from manila,makati,QC,pasig etc than from the south (alabang to laguna).
#3 is not appealing at all but what’s true is only Php50 will be donated to their foundation…lol

#4 is the most interesting chismis among the four. . hahhaa even he join or not, i decided not to join this year. If he join, I’ll wait for him na lang sa finish line and wait for photo ops chance with him hahaha. .
#3 what will happen to the elite runners after running under 3hrs?? 🙂 sleep and while waiting? 🙂 they will not even see the rising sun while on the road 🙂
#1 – true, but only for certain distances (16, 21 and 42)
#2 – it starts in Alabang then the run will start near the skyway entrance.
