Sony Walkman W262 – Just in time for Christmas

Here’s the latest member of the Sony’s W Series Walkman. The Sony W series is a compact, ultralight Mp3 player designed for vigorous people who want to enjoy their music while doing their workout or their fitness regimen.  Their previous design, the Sony W250 was one of my wishlist last Christmas.  The new W262 will be back in the list again.

The W626 is smaller and lighter.  This update is important to keep the earphones from falling off.  They also removed the magnet that serves as the on-off of the device.  They placed a dedicated on-off button, instead.

The design and colors are softer.  It’s not metallic compared to the previous model.  But I find the design too curvy that even the black design looks feminine already.

Other features remains the same.  There is still the Zappin technology, a 3-minute Quick Charge, water-resistant and cordless.

However, it still remains as an MP3 player only.  It doesn’t have an FM Radio.  You can’t use it as an earphone for other gadgets like a PSP or iPod since it doesn’t have an input jock.

Overall, they would still make a great buddy for running and fitness activities.  If you are still looking for an mp3 player, this will be the first choice for runners.

The Sony Walkman W262 comes in four colors: pink, blue, black and white.
