The Subic International Marathon 2012 will be held on January 21-22, 2012 at Subic Remy Field. The theme for 2012 is Run for Fun and Transformation. The 3K and 5K events will be on January 21, 2012 while the 10K, 21K and 42K will be on January 22, 2012.

The previous editions of this race did not receive high ratings from the running community. What adjustments did the organizers make for the 2012 edition? The organizers must remember that this race will be compared and rated accordingly based on the standards set by other races such as the Camsur and Cebu marathons. Ain’t too late to fix and mend the broken pieces during the previous editions, right? Good luck to the organizers!

what is the time limit for the 42k run kasi sa milo marathon ay 6 hrs.
the 2009 edition was really bad.. however the 2011 run was Topnotch. i think extribe ang organizer last year.. if sila parin ang org i will Definitely join again. 21k is generally pancake flat untill you reach the airport.
I missed cebu marathon & ran SIM3 this year.
I will miss SIM 2012 since already set for cebu marathon 2012.

If you love running hills with the cleanest air, forest environment, then Subic Marathon (Ocean Adventure route) is the best in the Philippines!
eXtribe Inc. organized the 2011 Subic International Marathon as well as the 2012 this coming January.
If the same organizer? siguro pass na muna sayang ang registration Fees, TollFees, gasoline and hotel accommodation. Not to mention poor marshal, poor location of portalet, lighting and race marking. But, we have a good time at the beach with my family…
Naalala ko rin sa SIM3 42k yung madilim na lugar kung kailan di maganda yung kalsada. May torch nga pero di pa rin makita yung tinatapakan.
Di rin malinis tingnan yung saging na hiniwa-hiwa sa finish line. Sana buo na lang.
Subic Remy Field?? ano ibig sabihin nito paikot-ikot lang yung mga tatakbo dun sa Oval ng Remy.
That’s just the starting line. The course is usually out and back to cover the 42K.

they also have to improve on the singlet. this year they gave tshirt with bad design and quality. the prizes were pittance for an international marathon. buti na lang at finisher lang ang goal ko. 🙂 i will wait for the singlet design, else i will try to run as a “running bandit” (never tried pa kasi).

running bandit? never tried that too. Pero pwede rin pala ano if you wantto try the organizers. In Europe marami running bandits sa races. Be it bike races or running races… most of them are nude streakers who give the organizers headaches and the participants a dose of fun during the event. … mukang malabo mangyari dito

yeah i have to agree with the other who commented.. SIM2011 were good… the route is very challenging and you will push yourself to the limit to finish the race. It was my first full marathon experience and boy it wasn’t easy at all.. will definitely join the SIM3. Hope singlet will be better this time and the medal…

Pwede po bang malaman sa mga nakapunta na ng subic kung saan pinaka mlalapit na hotel dito sa remy fields? un budjet friendly lang. Taga mindanao po ako and it’s my first time to go to subic to compete in the 42kms. category. salamat po.

Subic International Marathon 2012 was a great event. Congratulations to the organizers!
Many runners appreciate the attention to detail applied to:
– helpful staff addressing concerns
– decent event site and parking
– 2sets Portalets placed somewhere w/in the first 1 – 2km of the course w/ a tissue paper (pls add more for the other runners to use)
– bright LED lanterns placed along the low visibility parts and directional arrows at the course
– lots of hydration points. lots of adequate cups and trash bins too
– lots of good people acting as marshals
– shower mist c/o Subic Fire Fighting Department somewhere along the 30km portion of the route
– beautiful medal & dog tag to meet you at the finish line
All in all it was a job well done. Looking forward to next year’s event 🙂
