Boston Marathon 2012

The 2012 Boston Marathon, one of the most awaited race in Massachusetts, established by a non-profit organization with a mission of indorsing a healthy lifestyle through running will be scheduled on  April 16, 2012 at Patriots’ Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The race will starts on Main Street in the rural New England town of Hopkinton.

2012 Boston Marathon Registration

For Boston Marathon 2012 registration it starts on September 12 at 10:00 (ET) and will close on Friday, September 23 (5:00 p.m.). Applicants were notified weeks after their registration if they were accepted or not. The conclusion of the first week of registration it was almost 15,000 applicants and was informed of their acceptance. A total of more than 20,000 candidates are accepted through this procedure. Plus, 277 qualifiers who have run ten or more consecutive Boston Marathons have been accepted and notified.

2012 Boston Marathon Route Map

The renowned course of the Boston Marathon has been the same through time. The course follows 42.195 km of winding roads from rural Hopkinton to urban Boston. Shortly after the 25k mark, the road starts going up a series of hills, the Newton Hills then to Commonwealth Avenue . Then they will continue Chestnut Hill Avenue to Cleveland Circle. Then turn left onto Beacon Street continuing to Kenmore Square, and then follows Commonwealth Avenue inbound. The path turns right to Hereford Street then left to Boylston Street and finish close to John Hancock Tower in Copley Square.
