The most awaited marathon this year, the 2012 Unilab Run United Philippine Marathon kicks off this October 28, 2012 with Ceelin 500m, Hydrite 3K, Dolfenal 5K, Enervon HP Recovery 10K, Alaxan FR 21K and Enervon Activ 42K race categories. All categories except for 42K and 21K will have start and finishline at the SM Mall of Asia while 42K and 21K will start at Bonifacio Global City and finish at SM Mall of Asia.

just to inform u, bazumedia is the online registration partner of runrio. i encountered it sa link ng online registration for ru2. kung saan may option na din for ru 3 and philippine marathon. maganda na din na may clamor na wag umabot dito price para babaan talaga.

sa mga nagrereklamo, DI PO SAPILITAN ITO kaya mas makabubuting itikom na lang ang inyong bibig kung wala kayong magandang sasabihin. kung gusto niyo ng murang takbuhan, tmakbo kayo ng tumakbo mag-isa at bumili na rin kayo ng medal sa recto para masulit pagod niyo. :)or subukan niyo tumakbo from moa to bgc (same route as milo full marathon) ng 2 beses ng walang drinking stations, walang pulis na magtatrapik at walang photog na kukuha sa inyo. then pagdating niyo sa finish line, kung meron man, tsaka niyo tanungin sarili niyo kung mahal nga ba ang sumali sa mga takbuhan dito sa pilipinas :p

Maraming runs na well organized, sapat ang drinking stations, maraming marshalls, etc. pero hindi ganito kamahal. so, pag tinanong ko ang sarili ko kung mahal nga ba ito, ang simpleng sagot: OO!
Si coach rio ay nagsimula lang din sa ibaba at dating myembro lang din ng ibang organizing team. Idol ko si coach sa pag-angat nya sa buhay at inspirasyon ko sya as runner. Bawat event nya ay sinusundan ko dahil sa maganda at progressive ang bawat event nya. Kaya huwag mong sabihin sa amin na maghanap ng ibang event dahil may pera kaming pambayad para dyan. Ang sa akin lang ay sana reasonable price to invite more runners.. sana maisip mo kung ikaw lang din mag-isang natakbo sa RU2 kung hindi ka magmukhang tangga sa kalsada.

Sa price ng run, medyo mahal nga sya. Pero siguro meron reason. Baka mas madami ibibigay or may iba pang pakulo. Maybe RunRio should announce/provide info sa public bakit priced at these amounts. I would like to join for my first marathon pero at P2500, medyo mapapaisip talaga ako. Coach Rio, mula ng kayo ang ngoorganize, nag-taasan na ang price not only for Unilab runs but to others as well. Hope its worth the price.
I agree with u mark. Si RIO nag pataas ng Marathon registration Fees sa Pilipinas. Milo 50 Pesos lng noon ng hinawankan ni RIO 500php na dats why i dont join d RUNRIO organized run. ang MAHALLLL!!!

I have a friend who is in his late 50s who used to be President of Runnex or Running Executives. They were a pioneering and exclusive running club which actively ran in the 80s and 90s (every week)sa QC. He is actually delighted by the fact that a lot of Filipinos are into running now. Hindi katulad dati na sila-sila lang. Kaya naman they are appreciative of the people who organize the runs today. Pero just the same, he cannot help but see the fact that running now has become a business- a money earning venture. Of course nothing is wrong with earning money in exchange for setting up a really difficult event. Pero it has affected the motivations of the runners as well. Na para bang ang pagtakbo is motivated by medals, beautiful singlets, freebies, finishers shirts, etc. We have all become fixated by proofs- material things that prove of our accomplishments, those that we can hang on our walls or wear as testament of having gone through a difficult process. Mayroon ba tayong dapat patunayan? Hindi ba sapat ng alam natin sa ating mga sarili, or those who are within our circle that we finished a certain distance? kaya naman, he longs for the time when we all get back to the basics, that is to run for physical fitness. Physical fitness lang when we all rid away of the tangibles that have clouded our minds of the real intentions why we actually love the sport.
Mahal ang 2,500 lalo na at ang hirap ng buhay ngayon. Kung di natin kaya magbayad, might as well not join. But this does not mean we do not run. Maraming mumurahing runs dyan. Do we need uniformed marshalls pa to make sure na they clear our running paths? Kailangan pa ba natin ng water stations every 2 kms to make sure that we are hydrated when im sure we can bring our own water or the very least expect the organizers to set-up something for us? Yung Civil Service Commission Run nga 2 wks ago walang water stations at portalets eh pero they attracted 10,500 participants. Oo may nagcomplain pero still they made it to the finish line.
Bottom line is that we are all runners. Having gone through runs in the past i am sure we can adapt. We dont really need to join the expensive ones to expect better organized routes or attractive tangible rewards. I have joined runs with cheap registration fees but they were not bad at all. Marami ding freebies. If you can afford the expensive ones, then go ahead. If you are one who is fixated by the tangibles, go ahead, there is nothing wrong with that too. But for us who cannot afford but simply love the sport, who are motivated by the need for physical fitness, let us just run. Just my two-cents, i hope you respect this. Thanks

Siguro kaya mahal yung 42K kasi kung nakumpleto nyo yung trilogy medals nyo, sukatin nyo kung gaano kalaki yun pag nabuo, ganun kalaki yung medal nyo pag natapos nyo yung 42K. Kasi parang yun na yung magiging holder ng trilogy medal nyo, just imagine kung gaano kalaki yun, kasing laki na ng isang platito.

Para ka palang pinagagalitan pag sumasagot sila sa query mo. Admittedly, may pagkakamali ako sa online registration (too early a bird). Pero hindi ko lang inexpect na ganun sila sumagot. Marahil ay nagsasawa na sila sa error ng tao, kasi siguro sila ang diyos. Post ko yung nangyari mamaya. Kung approved ang message ko na ito. Kasi dun sa kabila pending palagi. How long does it take bago dumating ang race kit? I registered early on the 25th Sept until now wala pa rin race kit ko.. my first time registering online.. and according to the site ” race kit will be delivered 7 days after registration ” weird until now its the 8th of october na wala p rin.. even tried calling the numbers always busy ..even sent an email no reply.. ganito ba talaga pag online registration? If I knew instore na lng ginawa ko.

We registered lat sept 27 online. Up to now wala pa din kit and its less than 10 days to go. We went to riovana and they say hintayin na lang daw delivery. Bakit ang tagal? Sana man lang puede ipresent ireceipt sa riovana at dun na lang kunin eh. Kaso di daw puede hintayin daw ung kit. E paano kung di dumating un before the date. Is this a scam?! 3 kami nag register online we PAID for it one month ago wala pa din up to now. Napaka inefficient. Sa ibang organizer, after i paid in less than a week nandyan na. tapos pag dating sa mismo nyong store sa bgc na riovana ayaw kami asikasuhin dahil maghintay na lang daw sa delivery. Please expedite naman ang pagdeliver kung inutil naman pala yung riovana sa online registrants and di kami iintindihin. we paid for it and legally you should deliver it. Ok lang kung recently lang kami nag register eh one month ago na!
I emailed you, tried to call your numbera from the site wala pa ding sumasagot. If you dont feel any irgency on the services we paid for a month ago then think twice because we will complain this to lwgal authority that will compel you to serve what we paid for. That is not the customer service we deserve!

registered na po for 42k debut ko po ito… kaya lang tinamaan ako ng ubo’t sipon mag 1wk. na, up to now weak pa din ako.. do u think i can conquer the distance dis coming sunday? any suggestion po like what to do?, what medicine to take? etc>.. gusto ko lang po talaga makatakbo dis sunday.. been preparing dis for a yr.. sayang naman.
Hi Sam. Sabi nga nila “listen to your body”. Being sick for a week doesnt sound good and running might make it worst. You may still run and finish it but the experience may not be memorable. Sayang din lang. There are other marathons you can join later. For now, have a checkup with a doctor for meds and definitely have some rest na. Good luck.
