I think I have to disagree. Sayang naman ang training ng iba kung basta lang maglakad ka nd 21k pupuwede na pala.
Mas deserving ang medal sa mga nag training talaga.
what if dumaan nga sa training at nagpakahirap din pero kinapos pa rin on the event day itself. hindi deserving magkaron ng medal?! nakaka frustrate kaya yung ganun. alam mo sa sarili mo na nagpakapagod at nagpakahirap ka sa training mo and to think lahat ginawa mo na pero kapos talaga.
tama ba na sabihin na dagdagan mo pa training mo kaya dika umabot sa cutoff time?!
Di naman sa ganon, para mapush lang ang mga runners, saka di naman dapat every time mga runners masusunod ever since ganyan na kalakaran ng Milo, wag na nating baguhin.

basing from last year, kahit qualifying po ito, may medals ang 42 at 21k, although Im not sure rin kung magiging mahigpit sila sa cut-off time sa 21k, last year umulan ng bongga kaya hindi sila naghigpit sa cut-off time ng 21k

Katatawag ko lang sa runrio kahapon, sabi nong staff nya ipo-post nila sa runrio website kung kelan ang official registration for Manila Elim. although na-download ko na rin kahapon yong registration form sa link na pinost mo. So far, wala pa namang date daw at baka by June pa.

Hi Kenji, online registration is already on-going. For in-store registration June 11 pa ang start, and need ang empty Milo pack upon registration. MOA po ang venue sa Manila Elims. Yup may free singlet ito.

Need advice from seasoned runners please.
I’m planning to run for 21K here, but i’m also planning to run 16K on Spring board Run on July 15th.
Is this good or bad?
Or I just need to run on the 10K?
I just run my 1st 10K last May 19 and run my 2nd 10K on June 17.

Hi Arnie, may cut-off time po ang Milo hah, for 21k runners 2H and 30 minutes ang cut-off nila. Kapag lagpas na po sa cut-off period may chance kasi na hindi na sila magbigay ng medals, just like noong Milo Finals. I’am not that sure kung strict sila sa Elims. Good luck and more trainings to you.
Thanks for the reply po. I think kaya naman matapos sa cutoff period. Did my 1st 5K @ 30mins. and my 1st 10K @ 1hr. 2mins. doing my training at least 3 times a week. Hope kayanin ko yung 1st 21K ko. Good Luck to me… He he he 🙂

hi Bill,ang qualifying Race is only applicable for 42k distance. Sa Manila Elims, ang makakapasok sa cut-off time base sa age category ang makakatakbo ulit ng 42k sa Dec for free. Sa provincial races naman ganoon rin, ang mga 21k runners doon na makakapasok sa cut-off time based sa age category eh pasok rin sa 42k sa Dec sa Manila, expenses will be paid by the runner. Meron silang invisible time na pag na beat mo, all expense paid na ang finals mo.
Reminder lang po, 42k sa Manila Elims at 21k sa provincial lang ang may chance na mag qualify sa December. Ang lower categories will have to register again kung gusto nila tumakbo sa Milo Finals.

no medals for the lower category, only 21k and 42k will received finisher’s medal during elims and finals

Ang provincial legs po na 21k lang ang may qualifying round, kapag naka pasok ang isang runner doon sa cut-off time depending sa age bracket niya, pasok siya sa 42k distance sa Milo Finals.
They still have 21k distance sa Milo Finals, but you have to register again to be able to participate sa Dec.

I believe the registration is only valid to its original area. Thus if you wish to run in Angeles, you need to register to this area also.

clarify q lng po: in the 21K Race (Manila), official cut-off time is 2 1/2 hrs. within that period, does the finisher gets a medal & loot bag? Will he/she be qualified in the 21K Finals, Dec. 9? If so, is there also a medal or something once he/she finishes w/in the cut off period? thanks
hi Bot there is a finisher’s medal for 21k race Manila Elims upon crossing the finishline within the cut-off period. Sa loot bag huwag na masyado umasa at baka magkaubusan ulit tulad last year (Elims experience only)
Wala pong 21k finals sa Dec. 9. Runners can still run the 21k distance provided that you will have to register again, bayad ulit ng fees to be able to run for the Dec 9 event. Same medals lang naman ang itsura nito, but the good news according sa mga nakatakbo last year sa finals. Malaman ang loot bags nila for December, puro Milo products.
May libre po kayang singlet kahit yung 5k (P100.00) for adults?
lahat po ng categories nila may singlet. and Milo are requiring all participants to wear the Milo singlet sa event.
So excited and worried na maubusan, nagregister na tuloy ako online. warning ko lang po na halos P700 na ang 42k pag online reg. kasi may shipping and other fees pa.
Ok lang. at least sigurado. P700 is still the cheapest 42k i know of.

if you want to qualify for the december finals, one needs to finish the half-mary (regionals) in 1hr 30mins (18-34yrs old) or the full mary (manila elims) in 3hrs 45mins (18-34yrs old)

you can still join the december finals. hindi nga lang ung 42k event nila. but you can still sign up for the other lower distances
the 2:30 cutoff is there so a runner can be considered a finisher and bring home a finishers medal

registered my 3 kidz yesterday MILO run at RIOVANA, BGC yesterday.
i told the coordinator na wala akong dalang ID ng mga bata instead brought with me photocopy of school registration. at sabi ko wala pa sila issued ID kasi 1 week pa lang ang klase, pwede ba?
sabi nya hindi daw, dapat school ID lang. kung gusto nyo regular nalang sila, which is P100/ runner imbes na P50..
pumayag na ako, tulong ko na rin sa CAUSE ng run.

wala pa ding singlet sa riovana. I stopped by last night and sabi is probably next week pa magkakaroon. Ang singlet lang ang wala pero merong pang mga slots, it’s just that they want to release the race pack without the singlet.
Pero I suggest you call them everyday pa din kasi if nagkaroon yan, malamang magkakaubusan ulit.

1. Kelan po magkakaroon ng kits for 5k ; Answer : ewan ko po, di ako sure.
2. eh yung ibng sizes po para sa 10k category and Up : Answer : ewan ko po hindi ako sure kelan
3. May number po ba kayo na pwede tawagan ; Answer : yung nasa website po. ( i called all the numbers and it cannot be reached)
4. Mam panu to out of reach ang lahat ng number : Answer : ewan ko po (sabay kunot ng NOO)

@zerbenz You should have called first before going. It’s the second week for onsite registration and given the history of this race…talagang nagkakaubusan.
And the numbers can be search thru the website. Maybe you should have tried Runrio website for information.
I was in TOBY’s Mall of Asia yesterday aternoon. Ang natira nalang daw na slot ay yung 3K for kids and 42k marathon. Any questions na tanungin mo dun sa MILO Representative ay “Ewan ko po, hindi ko sure at hindi ko alam” lang ang sasagutin nila.In short sugod kami sa TOBY’s trinoma kasi paubos na din 5K funrun slots and the only singlet size left was XXL. As much as possible they do not entertain calls /inquiries kasi naiistobo mga taga toby’s, that is according to the MILO rep in TOBY’s Trinoma (hanep!). tsk.. tsk.. tsk..
I agree wala talagang customer service ang MILO rep sa TOBY’s Mall of Asia. Kaasar..

Talaga po medyo mahirap mg reg sa milo kase nationa event po kase ito. Konting tyaga lang po. I suggest mag reg na lang lahit ibang sukat ng singlet ipalit na lang kapag mayroon na at least naka reg na po tayo. Happy Running

Last Saturday meron pang 21K sa Riovana BGC but only XXL and up ang sizes ng singlet. Pwede daw palitan in any store if magkaroon ng smaller sizes na singlet.
Nag replenish yata kanina ng singlets sa Riovana-BGC, my friends were able to get Medium and Large singlets. They registered at lunch time by the way.

You can still run in the eliminations by registering again, unless your goal is to run in the 42K December 9 finals. Once qualified, your registration fee, singlet and carbo loading pass are free of charge.
Assuming you did not qualify in the eliminations (42K only), you can still join the December 9 finals by registering again, which you already did. This time, you can run either in the 3K, 5K, 10K or 21K. For further details check the Milo Handbook.

Sa Riovana-BGC kanina nagparegister ang mga friends ko. May nakita akong nagpaparegister ng 21K at 42K. Note lang na lunch time pa sila nagparegister.

Ano category po takbuhan nyo?
Yun po talaga target maka pasok sa cut-off time, kaya training mode po talaga ako ngayon, 4x a week ang takbo.
Doing good naman po ang time last 10K run ko po naka PR po ako from 1h:2m to 57m:17s, so improving wag lang po sana ma-injury before the event (fingers-crossed).

I strongly agree, tas ang susungit pa ng staff dun…sabi sa web until 8pm ang reg dun…dumating ako 7:15pm, cut-off na daw..kesyo madame pa silang gagawin like inventory etc etc…hai, come on! natural na madame ang mgrereg xe milo yan ei..kaya kung madame tao e di bilisan ang serbisyo and please follow wahat you have written in your web para di nakakainis once na andun na kame sa actual registration, kakafrustrate lang:(

It’s the organizer’s professional fee that Milo has no choice but to make some adjustments. Where can you find a FM with a registration fee of P500.00? None. Only Milo.

sana wala n lang cut-off sa milo.. hayaan na lang nila kung gusto tapusin ng runner yung sinalihan na event. tutal may time qualification naman sila eh check na lang nila sa records.. kasi kung gnun hindi accurate madidissapoint nga yung mga nag aattempt ng PR.
kailangan pa ba ng registration form? o online na lahat, magdadala na lang ng wrapper. hindi kasi ako makapag download ng form…

Sa tingin ko kaya pa naman sigurong ma-detect yang timing chip mo.
i’ve been running since 2009 and i run without pressure because endurance build up is more important to me than try to be competitive. finisher in any distance is good enough for me. whatever amount of registration fees, i presume it already covers the lootbag plus the medal. its okey to have a cut-off time for those aiming to join the finals. but i think medals and loot bags should also be given to finishers because they paid for it. organizers of course prepare based on the number of registrants. now if milo will be very strict on this, the question is, what will you do with the remaining medals that you will not give to those who didn’t make it on time? tutunawin po ulit for next year’s use? e bayad na po mga yon di ba. and the undistributed lootbags, who will benefit? the organizers? hope we can avoid the issues this time.
Let’s leave to the organizer on what to do with the rest of the medals. For me to have a cut-off time is a challenge, that after beating the cut-off you would receive your coveted medal. This is by far the cheapest run. Mostly in other runs you need shell out, at the minimum of 800-900, to get a medal irregardless of the time so long as you have crossed the finish line. Based on the comments prior to this, you still receive your loot bag depending on availability.
I respect your opinion, hope you extend the same courtesy to me. Have a happy, injury-free run and see you on July 29!

Since i started running in 1976 and joined the first Milo Marathon, i have remember that joining the race was easy with minimal registration fees. i remember competing the likes of Jimmy dela Torre, Paquito Rizalde, Herman Suizo all were winners of National Milo marathon. Jimmy dela Torre was then the Filipino Marathon record holder of 2:25 in 42k. During the early 80’s if you are a MILO Marathon National champion you are a celebrities.because if u win MILO you will be going to Boston to compete with d best of the world carrying d Flag. But now Milo winners were not giving exact recognition. The only attention d present organizers is to have high and profitable registration fees and using running for good business opportunities. I Run Boston for 2:28 and SFO at 2;19 in 26.2 miles. Im old but i cud tell what are good marathon races to compared with….

*back to basic ulit pagtapos nito, patakbo-takbo lang ng walang pressure kahit saan abutin… at damahin ang kagandahan ng running kahit hindi official na takbuhan…
*nawa’y maabot ang qualifying time para may official event sa december…

Ako’y ngayon lang sasali sa takbuhan na ito. akala ko ay tatakbo lang para sa kasiyahan at walang pwersa. ngunit nakakaenganyo din na meron din palang premyo sa mauunang makakatahak ng daan. duon lang muna ako sa sampung kilometro na ruta. kelangan ko muna magpursigi at magensayo para mapahusay ko ang aking sinisimulang marka. sana sa patimpalak na ito ay magkaroon ako ng bagong kakilala o kaibigan.. sa mga kapwa ko na dadalo, dun na lang tayo magtagpo.

Hello organizer! We have encoded the details ng mga 5k participants sa Toby’s Trinoma yesterday. Ang tagal sa pila,inabot ako dun ng 2 1/2 hrs. Meron iba, dun na ata natulog,hehehe! Ako kahit mahirap ang biyahe sa taas ng baha sa amin,pumunta ko kaya lang naubusan na ng 5k slot for the day. Sabi tumawag muna bago pumunta, kaya lang pagtawag ko paubos na ulit,eh mgtratravel pa ko sa hirap ng biyahe…Ask ko lang, are we sure na meron ng allocated slots para sa mga naencode na? Hi, first time ko to run for 10K. Normally for an average runner, gano po katagal un 10k? thanks much!
sabi nila usual cut off time for 10k is 1.5 hrs.
Depende po sa pacing mo. Ang average runner ay natatapos ang 10K ng mga 47 mins. with a pacing of 5min/km. Hope this would help.
47:00 for 10K (4:42/K pace not 5:00/K) is already fast. That’s the finish time of the top 5-10% of runners in Milo & other 10K runs (based on actual historical data). Average 10K FT for most runners is probably around 1:05:00 to 1:10:00 (pace of 6:30/K to 7:00/K).
Kahit first timer ka sa 10K pero nag-ensayo ka naman ng mabuti, kaya mo ang finish time na ‘to. Pero kung nagpupumulit ka lang tumakbo sa 10K kahit kulang ka sa practice baka mahirapan ka pa makatapos in 1:20:00 at baka magka-injury ka pa.

It’s unlikely na magiging handa ka for 21K in less than 3 week’s time kung ang naging practice mo ay pang 5K lang. Ang pagtakbo nang hindi handa ay maaring mauwi sa malalang injury at pwede pang ikamatay.
Ang isang rule sa practice runs ay hindi dapat lumampas ng 10% ang increase ng distance ng iyong “long” runs every week. So kung 5K run ka this week, ang run mo next week ay dapat 5.5K lang (although pwede na rin ang 6K basta bagalan lang ng konti.) Running too long and/or too fast too soon is inviting serious injury which could sideline you for many months.

parang sobra ang 42k route (43.42km) base lang naman sa walkjogrun.net hopefully nagkamali ako, 1min eh napakahirap sa marathon baka sa sobrang pagod eh umabot pa ito ng 10mins… so hopefully makita ito ng organizer…

walang kwenta milo di man lang ako nabigyan ng certificate at lootbag kahit na walang medal dahil sa cutoff pangit
This year’s 21k event was somehow frustration. Aside from no medal for those who didn’t finish in the cut off time, certificate and loot bag were not also given. The point here is, eventhough a runner didn’t make it to the cut off time, the fact he/she finished it, I think we deserve a medal ‘coz we are FINISHERS!
Read the rules again please.
If you want to change that fact then be an organizer and set your own rules.
If you think you cannot beat a cut-off time please don’t push to be in the 21k or whatever category that you knew yourself is not yet ready. Running is not about bragging to your friends that you are a 21k or a 42k finisher! Sure, anyone with a little training can finish a 21k or 42k, but cut-off times are in place as a challenge. Thing is, if you know you can’t beat it please take you time. Don’t brag, crash and complain at the end.
Anyone can finish a marathon or half marathon with little training. My sister finished a full marathon (jog, walk) with two weeks training and she’s obese!!! Sure she finished it, but for 6hours 55 minutes! Finishing a marathon is not theoretical, so don’t make it a big deal that you need to be “appreciated”. Milo has been doing this yearly and this is there 36th!!! with the same imposed rules. This issue is just simple, if you know that you cannot beat the cutoff time, then join shorter races. Why are you pushing yourself to join 21 or 42 if you can’t even beat the cutoff time? (which is common in any accredited marathon event) so you can brag to your friends that you are a finisher? Your are a finisher alright, but you don’t deserve to be appreciated because the audience have long gone home waiting for you. Yeah, you can’t either quit or stop being a cry wolf and train Harder!
WALANG KWENTA ANG LAMAN NG LOOTBAG!!! DI TULAG NUNG DATI, MASYADONG TINIPID ANG MILO MARATHON NGAYON. DAPAT KAHIT DI PUMASOK SA CUT OFF MAYROONG LOOTBAGS AND CERTIFICATE KAHIT WALA NG MEDAL.. PASOK AKO SA CUT OFF, IN BEHALF OF ALL THOSE 21K RUNNERS NA DI PUMASOK SA CUT OFF MALAKING KALOKOHAN TO. 21K YUNG TINAKBO WALA MAN LANG APPRECIATION..

I disagree! Appreciation is given by your self and you alone can give it. Sa tingin nyo ba if you were a little faster you will not get a loot bag? If you know that you cannot beat such cut-off times why are you in the half or full marathon categories? to challenge yourself? Then be it a challenge but not a reward!!! If your after loot bags go down to lower categories or better yet train harder and join when you are finishing 5k atleast under 29min and 10k’s under 50min. Build your endurance to 21k, for sure you will get your wonderful lootbag, then I can say, you deserve it!!!

Yep, or join when you are fast and strong enough, untill then, train train train!!! then you can call yourself deserving, that’s the greatest loot/reward you can give yourself.
i strongly agree with you. ganyan sa international marathons, 6 hours ang cutoff, kaya advise to those negative comments is this…..take it easy, if you wish to run your first fm plan to go for condura or qcim muna. ang sarap ng feeling nakahabol ka sa cutoff ng Milo. GREAT JOB Milo! See you next year! at sana masking sub 5 masaya na ako. Milo was my personal worst big time, challenging ang route, mas madali ang skyway!!!

Baggage area after the run is still the problem 🙁 Bags were not taken care of as some get wet and soak into the water 🙁
Buti nga po kayo may baggage counter. although i understand naman na sobrang dami pala nung nasa 5K (its my first time to join milo) and hindi rin nila kakayanin bantayan ang bags ng ganon kadaming tao.
kaya lang late na namin nalaman and because of that, ilang beses nag change ng plans and we opted na magdala ng small sling bags and leave the usual belt bags at home. at least pwede magsingit ng bihisan and ok lang din na dalhin sya habang tumatakbo. when we came to the event, may kasama kaming nagdala pala ng sasakyan, so nakiiwan kami ng gamit. and since wala nga kaming beltbag for the valuables, di namin nadala lahat at may ibang naiwan sa sasakyan.
ang naging problema, nabiktima kami ng bukas kotse gang at natangay ang valuables na naiwan namin sa sasakyan (money and cell phone). buti na lang konti lang din talaga dala namin. hindi ko alam kung dapat ko ba sya isisi sa milo, sa runrio or sa sm mismo. kasi paid parking yung pinaradahan namin.
oh well, dahil nangyari na, hindi ko na makukuha yung nawala. warning na lang siguro sa mga runners that even if careful ka, maraming nagkalat na oportunista lalo na sa mga ganitong event na sobrang daming tao na aligaga.
