Guys,
I have never run out of town. This will be my first time if ever.
Just some questions:
– What time is the actual start of the race?
– what is the cut off time if ther is one?
– What happens in a rave party? hehe.
Thanks.
Hi Billy,
That’s great to know. And for sure it won’t be your last.
– Gunstart times: 21K – 8am; 10K – 8:15am. But please take note the difference of the conditions in Corregidor and the city runs: the island is thickly covered by trees and 90% of the running will be in the interior of the island, so runners won’t really have to worry about the intense heat of the sun. 9am in Corregidor is like 5am in Manila, notwithstanding the fact that there is no smog, pollutants, and vehicular traffic. So runners could really concentrate on their running performance or appreciate the breath-taking sites in the island.
– There is NO CUT OFF/SWEEP TIME. There will be a qualifying time, though, but it will ONLY BE APPLICABLE to the 501st and up race registrants. But don’t worry about it, it’s so generous (3h30m Men & 3h45m Women for the 21K; 1h30m Men & 1h45m Women for the 10K).
– At the rave party: It will be a parteeeh, and we will have a rave. We might get drunk, too. And as they say, what happens in Corregidor, stays in Corregidor. Cheers!
Hi Edward,
Just a few questions:
Can we go there on Race Day itself?
What are the ferry schedules on Race Day? Going to and leaving Corregidor.
If I bring my family will they have a place to stay or roam around while I am running?
Thanks!
Cocoy
Hi Cocoyr,
There’s a special ferry on race day (Dec 1) that leaves Manila @ 5:00 am. See ferry schedules above.
For you family, there are plenty of interesting places in Corregidor that they can go around. There’s a museum, beach area, small parks, and a restaurant they can stay while you run.
I think the finish area has tents too where they can wait and cheer for you.
Better if they have a guide to tell them facts and stories about Corregidor. I just dont know if the Tour Packages is available on the race day.
Big thanks Jinoe for that detailed explanation to Cocoyr. Yes, the regular tour package is available to non-competing companions of race participants on the race day. Same procedure, tickets may be availed at SM TIckets at P2200, I believe.
Jinoe/Edward,
Many thanks for your reply.
Cocoy
Thanks Edward.
Are there hotels there? I plan to to go on nove 30 and leave
on dec 2.
I am really excited about this run. Hehe.
Yes. Sun Cruises operate Corregidor Inn and the Resorts Cabana. You may call them up to book.
Can my non-runner companion join the rave?
Yes. All companions of the race participants can join the party.
Hi Edward,
My plan is to register may non-runner companion as a participant
kahit di siay tatakbo, just to for her to ba able to join other
activities. So she can join the rave kahit hindi siya runner?
Thanks.
Yes billy your non-runner companion may join the post-race rave party. Actually, all non-competing companions of race participants may join, except the race itself, all activities of the 3rd CIHM. Cheers!
HOW MUCH WOULD BE THE ROOM PER NIGHT IF WE ARE GOING TO RESERVE A ROOM WITH SUN CRUISES
I believe for the Corregidor Inn, the standard room (could accommodate up to 3 pax) is pegged at P2200 and the Resort cabanas (could accommodate up to 6 pax) is pegged at P3500. My figures could be not exact. You confirm with Sun Cruises.
hello
there are around 5 of us who wants to join but we are be coming from bataan, definitely we will not get the package with sunferry inclusion. where we can register? and how much for us that will be coming here from mariveles bataan?
Hi Glacy Villaruel,
Call us up at 0915-9990187. We’ll find a way for your case. Cheers!
thanks
Hi Edward, we plan to join this event but can’t decide yet whether to get a room from Corregidor Inn or do the camping instead. Although mas fun ang camping (tent accomodation) we have some concerns like safety nung belongings during the run kasi no one will be left in our tent, also toilet and bath. Hope you can give us some feedback. Thanks :))
Hi Tina. You’re right, camping is more fun in Corregidor. As per advise of Sun Cruises, there’ll be a one time fee of P500 for each pitched tent. We’ll have marshals who’ll be assigned to oversee the tents. Perhaps, you may want to check-in your baggage during the race at our baggage checkin counter. As to the toilet and bath, there are more than ample shower and lavatory cubicles that could be used by camper-participants. These are located within the pitching area, at the Parade Grounds.
Thanks for the info Edward! Got our ticket already, will proceed with our registration and reservation tomorrow. See you at the CIHM! Hope my 1st CIHM will be a blast!
Hello again Edward, I had some problem with our registration. While i was registering for my companion, some wrong details have been automatically generated from my Facebook account (birthday, gender). Where can I email to make the necessary corrections? Thanks
Hi Tina,
We got your email and addressed your concern. Many thanks for informing us about it. And to all 3rd CIHM race registrants you may contact us through corregidor21@bigbigbig.com.ph, FB account CIHM21, or mobile number 09228115438 for your concerns or feedback. We’ll be glad to help you out. Salamat po!
Hi Edward,
My plan is to register may non-runner companion as a participant
kahit di siya tatakbo, just for her to be able to join other
activities. So she can join the rave kahit hindi siya runner?
Thanks.
This weekend palang ako bibili ng tickets.
Di kaya ako maubusan by then?
Hi Billy,
Salamat fellow runners!
Edward,
Thank you for clarifying.
Medal design for the 21K finishers is now posted. Looking good.
Does that mean na pag hindi ako kasama sa 1st 500 registrants, I need to cross the finish line in 3hours and 45mins or else wala akong medal?
@markenji – No. Once you are accepted into the race, you will receive a Finisher’s Medallion (21K)/Achiever Medal (10K) when you cross the finish line. Once you are in, you are in and you are assumed to be capable of finishing the race, no matter what level of race preparation you have or the lack thereof. The first 500 slots are fast track slots, meaning there won’t be any required proof of prior race participation in any race distance. Alums of CIHM are automatically exempted also from the race acceptance qualifying time, the SLOTS THEY WILL TAKE WON’T BE COUNTED WITH THE FIRST 500. After the first 500 slots have been filled up, succeeding race registrants will be required to submit a proof of race participation (within the calendar year) before his/her registration gets final validation. Big thanks!
Hi again,
What about baggage security? I don’t usually bring a camera during runs but since this is in Corregidor I think it is a must. Due to its size I can’t carry it during the run it self. Any comment/advise? Thanks!
Cocoy
Hi Cocoyr,
There is a baggage checkin station, just like the previous editions of the CIHM, situated near the pontoon/Finish Line. It will manned by 6 staff from Sun Cruises.
Hello to everyone who’s joining, I’m looking for someone who is planning to stay in the hotel- to share the room with. I want to save on the accommod expenses. Originally, I’m supposed to run for this event with an office-mate, but he backed out, thus this post. I haven’t registered yet because I’m kind of waiting to have someone to share the hotel expenses with since their room can accomodate up to 2 to 5 or 6(I haven’t really confirmed). I’m running for 21K. To set your expectations, this’ll be a CIVIL runner to runner set up. NO personal connection required. We can even exist or finish the entire event from travel to Corregidor, to the run, to the rave party and travel back to Manila without talking to each other- I’m GAY and I know it’s a huge issue for a lot of people. I’m not looking for friends or anything that has something to do with human interactions and connections, just someone to SHARE THE HOTEL ACCOMODATION & EXPENSES.
for safety reasons, pls leave your email for me to contact. Thank you.
i626leo@yahoo.com
how can i register and go to corregidor … im near at bataan…how much is the registration if i wont avail the sun cruise package?
Hi mat,
You may still go through the same procedure. Once you have finsihed your online registration and received your race registration confirmation, send us an email detailing your full name, age, and race bib number. That way, we’ll be able to include you in the list of those who won’t be taking the Sun Cruises ferry. Please take note that YOU SHOULD NOT BOOK A FERRY TRIP WITH SUN CRUISES with this setup. That means there is no need for you to call up Sun Cruises after buying your race ticket at SM Tickets. You may log on right away to http://www.corregidor21.runningmate.ph. Cheers!
I already registered online but have no yet receive the confirmatory email. How long does this take?
Hi Bily,
What’s your full name? It shouldn’t take more than 48 hours for you to receive your e-confirmation.
What time po ung runner’s briefing on nov24 – 25? Requirement po ba na maka-attend dito? Thanks!
Hi Kate,
It’s from 3pm to 8pm sa R.O.X.. It’s not mandatory to attend the Runners’ Briefing. If you have a more important activity to attend to you may just send a rep to claim your race packet. Cheers!
if we opt to camp, is there a way we can charge our phone?
thanks.
Hi Alex,
Yes there are power outlets in the kiosks which are within the vicinity of the camping grounds. Just make sure to keep an eye on your mobile phones, though.
sir, Nag buy na ako ng ticket sa SM MOA, Yesterday evening pwedi ko bang malaman kung asan yung sinsabing sm ticket ID Number, medyo maraming number groups ang nakalgay dito sa left side ng ticket eh.my Name is Nestor Torreros sir edward.
Hi Nestor,
Pls spread the word. Salamat. Kitakits sa Nov 24/25!
Pls clarify, the CIHM Race shirt is not a singlet, right? Will it be required to be worn during the run? Do you have the shirt design. Thanks.
Hi Pip,
Yes the 3rd CIHM race shirt is not a singlet. The design will be out by next week. Wearing the shirt on race day is not mandatory. We believe in free expression, every runner is different. Cheers!
Thanks Sir Edward..
If ever I reg as the 501st participant, can I use my marathon time as a proof for registration? I rarely joined 21K events this year but usually did LSDs for training. 🙂
Most certainly Pip. Finish times achieved in a full marathon may be used as proof for reg. And regarding the available fast track slots, there are about 200 still available.
Thanks po.. I’ll try to reg this weekend..
CIHM Shirt Design added. Check it out. 😀
question, is this a trail or road race? just so I know which shoe to bring.
thanks
It’s a combination. Around 20% trail, but basically covering all types of terrains: paved, up and downhills, grass, forest track.
I used a road shoe when I joined CHIM 2010 since mostly paved road yung terrain. There is a trail but not a very technical one that will require trail shoes.
may parking ba malapit sa Daungan? Pwede ba mag overnight park doon? 🙂
yung jacket magkano?
HI JJ,
But then convenience matters din naman. The winbreaker is P900, for race participants only.
Thank you 🙂
Hi jj. P35 ang initial first 3hours nila. But based on my last recollection when I parked my car there overnight, upon returning from Corregidor the following day in the afternoon, I had to shell out almost P400.
hello everyone, me and my friend are looking for 2 more people to share a Cabana accommodation(P3500), for the Nov 30th night only. pls contact me at drayel723@gmail.com we’re both guys.
Cheers!
ayos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Is the registration still open?
Would you know if the ferry has available slots for the daytrip?
Appreciate your reply thanks
Hi Normandy. Yes reg is still open. Last day is on the 23rd. Same goes with the ferry, there are two vessels exclusively allotted for the 3rd CIHM.
Thanks Edward, was at an SM Hypermart last night but wasnt accepting payments. Im in the Enterprise Tower, where should i go? Thanks
Hi, sa SM Cinema po dapat.
salamat dandan!
I plan to ask our messenger to buy the ticket. What should he say? CIHM lang ba?
Hi Sir Edward, I think Kuya Kim is interested to join the CIHM event, I asked him thru twitter if he has joined one of the previous legs, he replied “no” and asked to be invited:) Just sharing, ’cause I thought it’d be fun:)
Hi #LGBT Runner. Pls relay to Kuya Kim he may shoot us an email through corregidor21@bigbigbig.com.ph so we see how we can accommodate him. Thanks.

if anyone is looking for accommodation for the November 30th night. we still have 1 slot left. contact me: drayel723@gmail.com thankies.
We are still in need of 1 participant to share a cabana accommodation(PhP3500):) for the Nov 30th night. But if anyone wants to share the room(from Nov 30th) till the 2nd, here’s our setup: Nov 30th, there’s 3 of us, all guys. On Dec 1st we’re 4,all guys still. You just have to confirm with Sun Cruises how much is the additional fee on Dec 1st(because only 4 people is allowed in a cabana accommodation with no extra fee) and pay it yourself in reference to our accommodation confirmation #(provided by Sun Cruises). We paid for the 2 nights already(maghahatian sa Nov 24th briefing). Contact me at drayel723@gmail.com.
To everyone, I don’t know what happens to your trying to contact Sun Cruises, but we are able to contact them just fine in 1 to 2 dials:D

Yes JJ.

Hi Runners, here is preview of the race track in Corregidor, courtesy of AMCI, clips form their BMC training. Particularly the Malinta Tunnel. Most probably we’ll be running on some of the trails in the video. This will entice you more!
Also, some reminders / check list for those who will camp-out.
@mistryrain1 I hope this can help you. See you there!

Wanted Race shirt swap! From large to medium =1; from small to extra small=1. Though the organizers informed that shirt substitution maybe made on the race day, we prefer swapping before the race day para malabhan!
