Skora Form Running Shoe Review
Skora is a new running shoe to hit the local market. I was given a pair of Skora Form running shoes to test and review. After about 20 kms of mileage, I find the shoe great for minimalist lovers. The new materials and designs make it a great shoe for outdoors. But Skora rejects the word “minimal”. With skora, it is Real Running.
Skora is now available in the Philippines at Toby’s Sports store and at Runnr Stores.

Skora’s Mission
Skora running shoes are intended to maintain the way we run as nature intended – efficient, effective and with ease. It promotes midfoot strike that results to less impact energy and force shock transmitted through the body.
Skora stand to deliver a whole new approach to running. They reject the terms “minimal”, “natural”, or “barefoot-style” when it comes to running. They believe there is only one way to run that respects our bodies — simply put, it is Real Running. Nothing more, nothing less.

Skora comes in two models – Skora Base and Skora Form. This is a shoe review for the Skora Form which I prefer over the Skora Base.
PROs
I love leather. It was very surprised that the upper material is made of leather. It’s very soft and very comfortable. Wearing leather shoes makes me feel like a school boy again. At first, I was worried that it will smell bad when getting wet or due to sweat. Good thing that the leather is treated for sweat and odor resistance.
Running on leather shoes is very comfortable.
Zero Drop. If you like minimalist shoes and running barefoot, Skora shoes provides a zero drop shoe with thin outsole. This is especially true when you remove the insoles. You can feel the ground while running.
Skora insoles can be removed for a better feel of the ground when running
Soft and Comfortable. Skora doesnt have sharp creases and hard edges. It’s soft all over from toe to heel. It’s heel counter is all leather. I often get blisters on the heel with running shoes even when running less than 5 kms. Blisters has never been an issue with Skora so far.
Skora is very soft inside and outside.
Durable outsoles. The outsole are really hard and strong. It may take a while before I wear them off and have it replaced.
The high abrasive rubber is thick and hard for high durability.
CONs
A bit heavy. Compared to other minimalist shoes I tried. The Skora is slightly heavier. This is probably becuase of the leather material which is heavier than most synthetic upper materials being used in running shoes. The outsoles are also hard and heavy which adds to the weight.
Too old too soon. The problem with white is it gets dirty too fast. The leather also looks worn out with the creases that can be found all over. And that is just running for two weeks only. It may look old but the outsoles are still intact and very durable.
SUMMARY
I loved Skora for its unique materials and fine worksmanship. The leather was very soft from toe to heel and even in the linings. It’s asymetrical foot profile provided a good fit in the middle. It’s a bit roomy at the toes but I prefer it. Fit and comfort is definitely great with Skora.
Skora is a bit heavy compared to other minimalist shoes. But if you wish to transition from 12mm or 8mm into a zero drop shoe (0 mm), Skora is a good choice since it has more protection than other minimalist shoe. Plus the removable insoles gives you a choice to go even closer to the ground.

Skora is exclusively available in Toby’s Sports store and at Runnr Stores.
Skora Form is priced at 7,995 Php while the Skora Base is priced at 4,730 Php.
Nice write-up! I’ve put thousands of miles in SKORA shoes, including 1100 in a single pair of Forms. For the price, they tend to last quite a long time. The leather does shape itself a bit to how your foot is shaped and how it moves, hence the creases and the name of the shoe 😉
