The Men’s Health Urbanathlon is the international signature event of Men’s Health. It is one of a kind competition that combines traditional road race with obstacles.
Post race, the excitement continues at the Festival with DJ sets, foad and drink and lots of surprises from sponsors.

THE OBSTACLES
This year’s set of obstacles promises to challenge racers even more. Aside from the 8-foot wall, scaffolding maze, and monkey bars, you’ll have to go over an 8-foot container van, climb a 12-feet high rope, and conquer a 50-foot net stretched over a bus on your way to the finish line.

How was the event last year? Hindi ba magiging bottleneck pagdating sa obstacles? Makakadagdag sa oras yan pag pipila ka pa para sa obstacles.
mahaba yun pila sa mga obstacles pero may option ka na lagpasan yun mga obstacles kaya lang additional 10 min per obstacle course na lalagpasan mo… sana nga ma improve nila this year

bottleneck talaga sa mga unang obstacles kaya dapat after nun bilisan mo takbo mo para sa mga last obstacle d ka na pipila dire diretso lang :))
Just a tip: push yourself goin to the obstacle course since falling in line will allow you to rest. That is what we do in urban adventure racing. Hope this helps address your dilemma.
O RUNNING na lang at wala na Obstacles. baka mapilayan pa ang ang mga participants kawawa naman.
uhm… yun po talaga format nitong run na ‘to — may obstacle course… kung sa tingin naman po ng runner na di nya kaya yung obstacle e di wag nya gawin, wala naman pumipilit…. 🙂

Wait na lang po sa announcement ng Organizer kasi lst year nag post sila kung anong klase yung mga obstacles a few months before the run. So mapaghahandaan nyo po kung ano yung pwede at nde pwede na obstacles.
I joined last year’s 10K. Medyo may mga obstacles na mahihirapan yun mga babae or may excess weight, pero there were marshalls na willing to assist.
May nakita din ako na nagskip na lang ng ibang obstacles.
I’d say go for it! You can prepare pa, and at the end, it’s not your ordinary fun run. 🙂

nakasali ako dito last year…..kahit bata kaya makatapos ng obstacle course…..this is a very disappointing event…..marshalls are there not to guide the participants….nandun sila para tulungan yung participants na hindi makaya ang obstacles….binubuhat pa..there is a rule here na pag di mo kaya you have the option not to continue or may added time ka….dito ako naka kita ng runners na napaka lalaking upper body pero monkey bars hindi makaya….ampaw baga hehehe…dapat po mga organizers strick compliance sa obstacles ang gawin nyo!
sana hindi na dog-tag… sana medal na lang ulit… ihihihihihi ^_^

Sana mas ok ang MH Urbanathlon this year. I even had to fly to Manila last year (and this year as well).
2012 (and 2011) ay walang timing chip, so manual lang talaga. At the finish lane, they will tear a part of your bib for tabulation, but I can’t figure out how they set finish times sa official results. Pero last year, ni-wala ako sa race result. Lol. Pero, I’ll still give it another shot this year.
Finisher’s tee last year is a striking yellow Urbanathlon MH shirt, sana this time may year and distance na nakaimprint. 🙂
Hydration was a problem last year’s 10K. Nagkakaubusan ng drinks, and modesty aside, I won’t categorize myself among slow runners.
Long queues sa mga booths (especially the Nivea mobile/booth, that we’re even forced to “like” their page sa FB) haha..but overall, it’s an extraordinary race. Not designed to set your new PR in running, but still unique and exciting. You will be surprised that despite the obstacles, konting dagdag lang or almost the same lang ng time mo when doing the same distance without obstacles. That’s how fun the race was. 🙂

For those nagtatanong ng slot as per the organizers there will be 900 on each distancees so 900 in 21k 900 in 10k and 900 in 5K. Ang unang nauubos e 5K, By end of august ubos to sa dami ng nagpaparegister. 21k pa lang which Im registered on the 2nd day e pang 111 na ako what more sa 5K and 10K. So if you want to join I say magregister na kau for slots. Im wave 1 of 21 K so from 900 21K runners 300 will be from wave 1 which will run 4.30 AM then wave 2 then wave 3 then 10 k then 5K.
Yes my time chip na and if you lose it penalty of P1500.00 be careful on this chip

I just registered in 360 Fitness QC. Kumpleto sizes nila doon. According kay ate 600 lang ang 21k, tapos 1200 yung 5k at 10k. 3000 lang kasi nakalagay doon sa registration site.

Nakaregister na ako 21k wave 1.. 600 lang alloted sa 21k tapos tig-900 ang 5k at 10k. May timing chip pero isosoli din 500php kapag nawala mo hindi 1500.. at sa pagkakaintindi ko lahat ata ng category ay may finishers shirt at medal ang pinagkaiba lang sa 21k ay yung limited edition cap(yun ang pagkakaintindi ko sa nakalagay sa taas ah)

Bro, may obstacle yang 5K. Masusulit mo yung experience dito, last year nag 10k ako, and lahat nang obstacles na daanan ko.
This year mukang mas madaming obstacles, I’m sure mag eenjoy ka. Medyo ayaw ko lang dito yung 21K, kasi parang ma OOP ka sa layo ng tatakbuhin mo, wherein ang habol dito ay obstacles.. for me best distance is 10k, hindi gaano ka layo ang takbuhan, at hindi masyadong malapit, in short neutral. But kung gusto mo i brag ang 21k finisher shirt mo, then magpakasakit ka sa 21K.. maiinip ka sa layo.hahahaha. habang ang mga 10k at 5k nagpapahinga na at relax, hindi ka pa mauubusan ng food.:) just my 2cents.

I suggest run rio na lang mag organize for the next event. Baggage counter lang, wala ng kwenta. Wala man lang portalet. And you said that it comes with new and more challenges obstacles but parang 4 lang. Don’t announce things sa internet na wala naman talaga. Then when it comes with registration, pahirapan pang makahanap. Make it accessible sa lahat. Sayang lang yung binayaran kung di din worth it. Don’t say na pinagkakitaan nyo lang yung event.

4 na obstacles? 7 obstacles yung lahat. Wala yung barricades.
Pinakmaahirap na obstacle talaga yung baggage haha. Kaya hanbang pinapaunti ko yung nagcclaim nagpagupit muna ako sa Schick booth.
