EDSA will be a CAR-FREE Zone every Sunday
As part of the country’s accelerated effort in reducing its carbon footprint, EDSA will be a car-free zone every Sunday.
All vehicle types are no longer allowed on EDSA during Sundays from 8AM-8PM. The car-free zone stretches from EDSA-Roxas Blvd to Monumento.
EDSA will be converted into a Runners Lane and Bikers Lane during Sunday. Bikers will occupy the 3 inner lanes while runners are to occupy the 3 outer lanes.
Traffic rules will be strictly enforced during the Car-Free Sunday.
Minimum Speed is at 10 km/h while the Maximum Speed is at 40 km/h. The speed limit is for both runners and bikers. There will be a fine for underspeeding and overspeeding.
Runners and Bikers can only stop at designated stop zones. There is a fine if the runner or biker is stationary for more than 3 minutes.
Support vehicles are not allowed. No water stations will be provide. Urinals will be opened along EDSA.
