Simply Wilnar Qualifies for Summer Olympics 2016
The great and awesome Simply Wilnar has qualified and will represent the Philippines in the first ever ultramarathon event at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The announcement came just today from the IOC that aside from the marathon event, the ultramarathon is now an official Olympic sport. The distance has not been finalized yet but it would probably cover between 150-200 kilometers.
Simply Wilnar is the first to qualify among Asians after his stellar performance in the different ultramarathon events in the country.
Coach Ronel Ago-Go is exicited about the development and is getting ready for the training.
According to Coach Ronel, he is confident that Simply Wilnar will be able to take home the first Olympic Gold Medal for the Philippines. “We will have a training that has never been done before. It will be a secret training, so we cannot disclose any other details. Duh!”
We are not yet able to get a statement from Simply Wilnar because he is still running.
