If the organizer is STILL EVENTKING! In your dreams!!!!.. SUPER FAIL!!!!!
About the event of NatGeo! it’s Super fail!.. Finisher shirt is not the same as posted. Singlet/Racekit not properly handled and not delivered on time. No available sizes of singlet as requested. The delivery paid not refunded. Overall not ORGANIZED PROPERLY!!!!!
Maganda yung run compare last year..
I agree it was organized poorly! They could’ve opted to have the 42k run start at 2 or 3am since most finishers would finish before 8am, and the 21k start at 3-4am. And given na sobrang aga nga ng race, may areas din na walang lights sa Kalayaan bridge! it was really unsafe for runners since high volume runners were running in both directions without lights and without a barrier in between. We had to use our phones for lights. I don’t know kung ako lang nakapansin nun.
Lastly, there have been reports na sobrang daming kalat daw after ng event.. Why was this overlooked by the organizers? Kala ko ba EARTH DAY RUN?
wala man lng portalet. i ran 42k. wonder why wala akong record ng time. from start to finish.
Route, medics, hydration ok nmn for me..
OK naman po.. no comment.. two thumbs..
The event was better compared to last year. Hydration stations were more than enough. The gun start which was moved earlier than usual for all categories was a big adjustment for most runners. Like 10K runners are used to running at 5 am but this is good considering that it’s summer. However, if this would be adopted next year, I suggest having light colored singlet. It was really dark in some parts of the road and the Buendia flyover. You could hardly see the runner in front of you in the dark. Also, maybe the organizer can choose a route with better lighting. A lot of runners, including myself, tripped along the dark routes. Iwas injury lang sana. I’m not sure if I would like to join next year. .
From the registration, claiming, run itself and after the race? Disappointing..
Registration and claiming – very inconvenient because of the rescheduling plus the venue, abala kasing pumunta sa SM Aura at ung walang proper dissemination of info. Initially, per their website sabi onsite registration makukuha na agad ung singlet but then that didn’t happen and walang announcement or napaka late na nasabi na iba pa ung claiming date.. sige fine. Another fail ung pagpunta mo when they advised you kung kelan available for pickup ung singlet.. wala pa rin???! We had to go there 3 times to get our singlets.. wala kasing nagaabalang mag announce ng singlet status tuloy parang naging over 1k ung binayaran namin dahil sa gas/parking/taxi ng ilang beses na pagpunta dun SM Aura.
Run — no portalet? We run for more than 2 hrs (21K), panu pa yung mga 42K runners.. for the guys obviously they can take care of that panu naman ung mga babaeng runners?
After the race — loot bag.. that’s it? After 21/42K run wala man lang saging or anything to replenish our system bukod sa pocari at tubig?
Puro uphill yung route. I just wanna ask if anyone who wants to swap sizes with your finisher shirt. I have an XL 21K finisher shirt that I havent used yet, and I’m looking for an ‘L’ size for swapping. Please let me know if you’re interested. Thanks 🙂
no timing chip for 3k-10k runners.. loot bag walang kwenta.. tinipid ng bongga.. venue for registration..hassle..sa SM aura lang
I ran the 10K and found out that they didn’t record the finishing times of the 10k, 5k, and 3k runners, i’ve been joining fun runs for some time already (around 5+ years) and this is the VERY FIRST run that i’ve joined that runners’ finishing times from a specific category or distance were NOT recorded. Good thing i remembered my finishing time but how about for those who have trained their assess of and wanted to have some kind of “proof” that or acknowldgement regarding their finishing times? To me it’s ok if there are no photos or loot bags but it is a MUST that finishing times should be recorded regardless of category or distance.
Ey Brando. It was mentioned since the start to registration that timing is for 21K and 42K only. How i wish race time was provided for all as well. Hehehe…
Sir wala po nakalagay sa website ng NATGEO na 21K and 42K lng ang my timer chip, even our HR didn’t indicate n hindi recorded yung 3,5,10k run that’s why they all disappointed because some of them are practicing po talaga 😀
Kindly check under Registration Fee in takbo.ph promo: “Includes race bib, and singlet. The 21K and the 42K runners will have additional timing chip, finisher’s shirt and finisher’s medal”. (27 Feb ’14).
There’s the caveat.
42K and 21K finisher is literally the same, no distinction, not even one portalet for the whole 42K? unless event king gives another 42k finsher shirt i wont be joining their next event zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Good points: 1) online registration worked well for me. 2) more than adequate stations for hydration and medical aid
Bad points: 1) poor lighting along the route. You should have advised us to bring head lamps, There could have been collisions or twisted ankles 2) distribution of finisher’s shirts and loot bags was VERY POORLY organized. 3) Contents of the loot bag was miserly. 4) the finisher’s medal was like for a small time race. For the Nat Geo brand, something like the Run United or the Bull Runner medal would have been appropriate. 5) Where were the photographers? I saw five(?). In the Great Bank Family Fun Run last year, there were like twenty. And that was only a 5K and 10K fun run.
OVERALL ASSESSMENT: I’d grade it 7 out of 10.
Hi. Im swapping my M finisher shirt for S. 🙂
Event was handled poorly… From registration, pick up of race kits to assembly time and gun start…Too expensive… Hindi sulit! Can’t even find my race result.
Won’t join the next race if this will be handled by the same organizer. Sooooo disappointed!
My first nat-geo at 21k. Super traffic as all 42k, 21k, and 10k merged on the last 5k. This is so bad especially those who want to better their PR. Also rough road in some areas hurt my ankles specially unlit portions. I did appreciate yung numerous marshalls and aides but not all were friendly, others just powertripping. Sana you also had paging system for those w no celfons and parked real far. Lastly, expected the finishers shirt to be cotton but maybe it was intended for running too. All’s well for mother earth. Cheers!
21K/42k finisher at the back of the FS? Make sense to me. lol
Okay naman yung race! 🙂 Wala lang saging or oranges. Another thing, masyado na masikip ung venue for that number of runners.
Loot bag, Bakit Ganon ung Laman.
Everyone has a reason why joining an event like the recently concluded Natgeo run. If you are running because of the shirt, medal, photos, singlet, lootbag or freebies and the like.Try to think again. Perhaps you have to choose another event to join.Running is not for convenient it is about patience, endurance, sacrifices, achievement and self fulfillment. Just run in your own head and DON’T COMPLAIN.
Yeah, I agree however, for a run to charge more than other runs, one would expect that it would be more organized. We complain so they would improve next year.
korekek!!! i went to event just to run and participate on celebrating Earth day. not for the medal or loot bags. I think other runners forgot that. kaya pala ang dami sumali sa 21k becoz of the medal, hanggang sa pauwi na ako 7am may mga tumatakbo pa rin na 21k. hehe peace!
eh earth day nga kaya ganon ang laman ng loot bag . .
bakit po walang race result ang 3k-10K ?
There is no timing for the 3K, 5K and 10K. Only 21K and 42K have race times.
I sympathized with those who had been victimized again by the well-known organizer but not well-organized event! I hope that the victims would learn from experience and never make the same mistake twice.
unorganized at all, very disappointing, madilim daw ung road sabi ng kuya prang hnd sya safe takbuhin sa ganung oras ng gabi, better to check it next time, participants safety concerns must be their top priority.
Hi there! Where are the results for the 10k runners? Thanks!
except for d race kit distribubution, ok nmn ung event. very good hydration, apaw sa pocari at tubig! very corteous pa mga martials, panay greet at encourage sa mga runners. would lyk to thank yung martial na naka bike na sumabay sa kin. suko na ko sa 21st km. pero talagang in-encourage nya ako to push myself to d limit! wasn’t able to get ur name, kuya, pero – MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT SA ‘YO! ^_^
kawawa ang mga 3k,5k,10k runners because their run is not recorded. Hindi rin nakaindicate sa website ng NATGEO even sa store na 21k and 42k lng ang recorded. pano nmn yung mga ng training at nghanda sa event na to and mga 1st timer na runner. sobrang FAIL naman ng organizer.
May nasugat ba sa inyo sa arm-kilikili dahil sa singlet?
the race was great, very challenging, its like your in the trail because of the terrain. madaming uphill kaya its better for training and improving your endurance… may mga complain na madami kalat, well sana nilagay nyo sa mga trash bins na katabi lang hydration stations diba, konting common sense, we joined the race not just to run but also to be responsible in our on little way, simpleng pagtapon lang ng mga paper cups asa pa natin sa mga race organizers? konting improvement lang sa distribution ng race kits, kse hinde nman accessible sa lahat yung aura, sana may other malls kayo na mero din.
Thanks for the comment Paolo. I agree on the hilly route. Kahit mahirap, it’s great for training and improving endurance. Congrats on your finish.
Haha!
when can wee see the our photos. . . = )

What’s wrong with the results link?
Thanks to the organizers for setting up a Metro Manila 42k at the hottest time of the year. Midnight schedule was crucial. Hydration with ice provided is sufficient. Road marathon maniacs usually have a hard time looking for a pinoy 42k during this time of the year. Thanks and congratulations! 🙂
i don’t like the finisher’s shirt. and disappointed with the lootbag. pipila ako ng ganung kahaba para saan? sa isang chichirya?
