Wahoo TICKR: The Geeky Heart Rate Monitor
Wahoo Tickr is a new heart rate monitor that does more than just checking your heart rate. It is can track speed and distance on treadmill, cadence and even running form. The Wahoo Tickr makes running geeky with new metrics to track.
Wahoo Tickr comes in three versions of their popular heart rate monitors: Tickr, Tickr Run and Tickr X.
The TICKR will measure your heart rate only. It will also show the calorie burn and works with the Burn and Burst feature of the Wahoo Fitness App. TICKR is now available for purchase at 59.99 USD.
Next is the TICKR Run which has a built-in accelerometer. It features a treadmill mode which tracks speed and distance while on a treadmill. TICKR Run will also have the Wahoo Running Smoothness capability which tracks one’s running form and efficiency. Wahoo TICKR Run release date has not yet been announced. TICKR Run price will be at around 79.99 USD.
Finally, there is the TICKR X that can be used with any sport and works well for traithlon training. TICKR X adds swimmable waterproofness, a lap counter for swimming and the ability to measure cycling cadence via the accelerometer. It also comes with its own onboard memory that allows the option to train without bringing an iPhone, as the data can be stored and downloaded to the iPhone after the workout is done. Wahoo TICKR X release date has not yet been announced. TICKR X price will be at around 99.99 USD.
All Wahoo TICKR Heart Rate Monitors come with Bluetooth 4.0 and ANT+ connectivity. So you can use the TICKR with several phone devices from Apple to Android and several watches like Garmin, Suunto and Timex. The entire TICKR line-up is also equipped with two LED lights to show the TICKR’s device connection and heart rate detection.
The Wahoo Fitness App can be download for FREE. It is compatible with over 50 iPhone Apps like Nike+, Runkeeper, Strava, MapMyFitness, and Cyclemeter/Runmeter.
