Etude Princess Run 2014 Race Recap
Summer is not really my favorite time to run. That’s why I only signed up for a couple of races since I find it lazy to train and harder to run under the scorching heat of the sun.
My running girl friends and I decided that we are running Etude Princess run. Some of them even planned on what to wear for the cosplay category. Roselle, aka Running Diva, and I decided to run together. She’s willing to run with me on my snail pace as long as we wear our running skirts and the tutus Etude gave us.
With Running Diva Roselle and college friend Jez at the starting line. Thanks Titanium Runner for the photo.
Familiar Route
Days before the race, upon checking the race map, I knew I will be running the Kalayaan Flyover again. I missed running there and every time I do, I see to it that I will be running non-stop on it. This is a very familiar route for me to run and it was nice meeting friends on the road.
Happy Run Pace
The run started a little late than expected. The sun was already up when the gun was fired for the 10K runners. It was a hot and humid Sunday morning that I need to make a stop at every other water station, not to hydrate but to pour water on my arms and head to cool me off. The water stations were lifesaver for me and I enjoyed the ice cold water.
We were running at a comfortable pace all through out the route, though I think we would have finished way earlier if I didn’t stop at the water stations. We finished, as recorded in the Soleus watch I’m using, the 10.33K in a happy and official time of 1:14.
Meeting college friend Mae Ann. Congratulations on your 5K run!
The Pink Fair
Arriving at the finish line ahead than most of the runners, we were able to get out Etude giveaways in a breeze. Since we are meeting up a few more friends we lined up for freebies. I don’t usually do this since I leave the event venue almost immediately after my runs but at the Pink Fair, freebies were everywhere and we just can resist them. Ice creams, products for women, and my favorite is the bread and the iced cold drink from Tous Les Jours. Most women also lined up for the free make-up, massage and the Intagram Photo print outs.
Meeting Betsy, the posh beetle car in tutu!
The participants were treated like Princesses indeed. Great run and freebies for all. Congratulations Etude House Philippines! Should we look forward to the Etude Princess Run 2015?
This was such a fun run! I hope they have one again next year.
Yes, everyone had fun! It was nice seeing you there at the Pink Fair.
Too bad I missed this! Next time. 😉
