It was a great and Organized Run! But I’d like to make further suggestons to Runrio and most specifically, other up and coming organizers: Add more additional Slots. I mean, you draw thousand of crowds by tens of thousands, so why stop there? Make it bigger. Run United is only limited to 12k, why not make it 15k. You want your races to be popular, and it has. You don’t have to make other runners suffer by closing registrations just because it’s already full. You have to make additional slots. Philippine Running is growing, and more and more people want to join races. Remember that you are the reason why they took up running. Your races, your hydrations, your medals, your shirts, this are the reasons why they come back for more.
I would agree that they need more slots but sometimes there are constraints in what the roads are capable of. 15T runners is a big crowd. I would complain not being able to run well in that condition.
One way to address this is have 1 day for the long distance event only. Other distances will be on another day. The first Run United was like that in 2010. But I guess it is not that feasible yet. Maybe it’s feasible now. 😀
You’re right sir. I mean. My theory is, half of the slots is reserved for VIPs. Unilab execs and personnel, Runrio staffs, celebrity athletes, sponsors. The other half, to runners. Sana naman po eh dagdagan pa yung slots para sa atin po, para sa ganun maiiwasan po ang scalping and running out of slots.
It was a well-organised race event. Hindi naubusan ng hydration. Lots of marshals along the route. There was no hassle during the finishers kit claiming. The FS is very nice, medyo malaki sya sa’kin even though Small yung size nung kinuha ko. I still like it anyways. Kudos to Runrio for a successful event!
