Takbo! Breastfriends 2014 will be on October 5, 2014 in Tiendesitas, Frontera Verde, Pasig City. Takbo! Breastfriends 2014 (TBF) is a breast cancer awareness (BCA) run now on its 13th year.Soroptimist Ortigas made a study of diseases on women & discovered that breast cancer is the #1 killer of women today. Fact is,1 out of 9 Filipinas could develop breast cancer & the Philippines has the highest BC mortality & lowest survival rates among the 15 Asian countries. These prompted them to start a project called Soroptimist Ortigas Breast Friends which has grown to 13 components.Proceeds of TBF fund the ff projects:

* Free BC Chemo (6cycles)-stages I-IIB
* Free Tamoxifen- maintenance medicines
* Public BC Awareness- campaigns,lectures, seminars
* Clinical BC Examination & Screening
* Breast Cancer Advocate Training Course- empower barangay health workers to do palpation skills on patients
* Discounted Mammograms
* Prints & distributes tarpaulin posters promoting early detection of  BC
