Here are the winners of the 26th Yakult 10 Miler 2015 (from ABS-CBN News)

The 22-year-old Lorenzo dominated the race right from the start, clocking 1:07.21 to pocket some cash plus trophy, ahead of Mona Liza Ambasa , who timed 1:08.00. Criselyn Jaro edged younger sister Celie in a photo finish for third place in 1:21.52.

Eliud Kering ruled the men’ side in 51: 29, edging countrymen David Kipsang (53:36) and Elphiz Kiptarus(55:35).

The three Kenyan runners negotiated the 16K distance in less than an hour, thus reaffirming their billing as the best long distance runners in the 26th edition of the annual footrace.

The absence of Southeast Asian Games-bound reigning marathon king Rafael Poliquit and five-time marathon champion Eduardo Buenavista and other prominent local long distance runners made things easier for the Kenyans.

The best-placed local runners were Charles Bitoon Jr. (1:04.08) and Roy Dacutanan (1:04.41). Junrel Bendoy bagged the men’ 5K in 17:16, edging Diosmar Garcia (17.18), Victor Gabelo (18.38) and Aldin Motoles (20.09).

Lyca Sarmiento took the distaff side in 20:42, beating Rochelle Abanis (24.03) and Rishane Abellar (24.04).

Close to 3,000 runners answered the 5:30 a.m. starting gun supervised by veteran race director Rudy Biscocho.
