My Nike Holiday Challenge 2016
I exercise and run but not consistently. Having no sitter and the hubby training for his marathon, exercise sometimes take a backseat.
Singing up for Nike Holiday Challenge was something that needs great mental or physical effort. Well, at least for me. I have to get used to following a regular training schedule.
Downloading the four-week get started plan from the Nike Run Club app gave me the mileage I need to cover based on my fitness level. I do not have to think how many miles I need to run, or when the long or tempo run should be done as the plan will prompt me. All I have to do is gear up and go out to run as planned.
Getting with this challenge helped me to connect with running friends and join the Nike Thursday run nights. I also gain new ones in the community! It’s always fun doing drills with a group.
Even we were out on a vacation the Nike Holiday Challenge kept me moving. I make sure to pack some workout clothes and running shoes so I can still squeeze even a quick run when on a trip.
Joining the Nike run crew was good thing to be active again. I ran atleast 2x a week during the 4-week challenge!
I may not run as fast as I used to be or have the endurance to do longer runs yet but what matters is I am moving to a healthier me. One mile at a time. Nike Holiday Challenge may be completed but the keeping active goes on. Thank you Nike for the motivation!
The Nike+ Run Club app can be downloaded in iOS and android devices. There are 3 plans to choose from – Get Started, Get More Fit and Get Ready for Race Day. No matter what you choose, for sure it can make your runs better!
