AIMS certified Clark Sunset Marathon Happens on December 9

Clark Sunset Marathon, the first ever marathon of its kind in the country, is set to happen on December 9 at the Parade Grounds of Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. RunRio, the Clark Development Corporation, and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines partnered to deliver this unique running event.

The race was also given a certification by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Runners (AIMS) making it a qualifying race for major international races such as the Boston Marathon.

Clark Sunset Marathon Details

The Clark Sunset Marathon is expected to draw some 5,000 running enthusiasts of all levels. An after-race party is also scheduled at around midnight.

According to event organizer Run Rio they thought of coming with a sunset race since “in tropical countries like the Philippines, the weather is mostly hot and humid. A night run is the perfect running event for running enthusiasts to have a more cooler and more exciting race experience. ”

42K- Starts at 5:00 p.m.; Cut-off at 12:00 a.m. (7 hours)

21K- Starts at 5:15 p.m.; Cut-off at 9:15 p.m. (4 hours)

10K- Starts at 5:30 p.m.; Cut-off at 7:30 p.m. (2 hours)

5K- Starts at 5:45 p.m. ; Cut-off at 6:45 p.m. (1 hour)

“When we started conceptualizing the Clark Sunset Marathon, we wanted to have a first class running experience that targets not only local runners but also foreign running enthusiasts. We thought of a running event that can be compared to world-renowned marathons such as Boston Marathon, Singapore Marathon, New York Marathon among many others.
