Bongao Tawi-Tawi Ultramarathon 2nd Edition 2018 will be on June 30, 2018 at Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

This year, in solidarity with the people of Bongao on the 60th founding anniversary of the town, we push the challenge a bit farther to conquer 60K, including the Bongao Peak.

And just like any Great Filipino Race events, 100% of the registration fees goes to the community project that the event will adopt in the host town in partnership with Gawad Kalinga. Last year, we were able to raise funds for more than 10,000 meals for public school kids!

*All registered runners are entitled to a race bib, loot bag and post-race meal.

*All finishers within the cut-off time will get a finisher shirt and a finisher’s medal.

3. Inspire your friends to support your run and donate on your behalf. Just forward them the payment options and ask them to tag their donation to the name of the runner they are supporting.

HOW TO GET THERE

The most convenient way is by plane

• From Luzon
  * Take Manila to Zamboanga (Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines); then Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi (Cebu Pacific)
• From Visayas
  * Take Cebu to Zamboanga (Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines); then Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi (Cebu Pacific)
• From Mindanao
  * Fly from Davao, Cagayan de Oro or Cotabato to Zamboanga (Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines); then Zamboanga to Tawi-Tawi (Cebu Pacific), or
  * Take a bus to Zamboanga City and fly to Tawi-Tawi (Cebu Pacific).

IMPORTANT: Once you have finalized your travel arrangements, email us your itinerary so that we could assist you during your travel and, of you want, we can link you up with other participants with the same itinerary as yours.

MANDATORY ITEMS DURING THE RACE

1. Race bib. Must be worn at all times during the race
2. Mobile Phone. Must have enough load credits for calls/sms.
3. Water bottle or hydration pack. Drinking water will be made available in all aid stations but disposable cups will NOT be provided to avoid accumulation of trash and to protect the environment.
4. Headlamp and reflectors are required for the 60K and 30K runners.

RACE ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Concrete road throughout the race with 2.6 kms steep ascend and descend to and from Bongao Peak. The way up to Bongao Peak is through concrete steps and pathwalks.

Aid Stations will be available every 3 kms along the race route. Drinking water, salt and calorie-rich food items will be available. However, disposable cups won’t be provided so runners are required to bring their own water bottles or hydration packs.
