Saucony Celebrates 120th Anniversary with Run Your World Platform
In lieu of their 120th Anniversary, running and lifestyle brand Saucony hosted the Run Your World event last August 24 at the Out of the Box shoe store in Pioneer st., Mandaluyong.
Hundreds filled the showroom turned indoor concert grounds for a night of stories, art and music with performances from Ang Bandang Shirley, Autotelic, Bullet Dumas, Ebe Dencel, Pedicab and Urbandub.
Run Your World with Saucony
The Run Your World event is Saucony’s way of empowering people to run after their dreams and be the “hero of their own journey.” The new platform’s narrative goes beyond just running and into how each of us led the life we choose and how we experience the world around us.

Participants of the event also got to learn about the American shoe brand’s rich history while mingling with some of Saucony’s brand ambassadors. They also got to see the brand’s Fall 2018 collection spearheaded by the new Freedom ISO2.
Saucony also featured some of their most iconic shoe models throughout the years including their bestselling sneaker of all time- the Saucony Jazz. On display were also other throwback sneakers like the Saucony Shadow.

Saucony Throughout the Years
Saucony (pronounced as Sock-uh-knee) began in 1898 when its first factory was built on the banks of Saucony Creek in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Today, the company’s headquarters is located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
The brand’s iconic logo symbolizes the constant flow of Saucony creek, while its boulder lining represents the creek bed.

Throughout the years since its inception, Saucony has brought many revolutionary shoe technologies that have contributed greatly to modern running shoe designs.
In 1979, the Saucony Hornet made it to the top 10 running shoes list of the Runner’s World magazine and was named best in value. Since then, Saucony has landed on the annual best shoe numerous times.
Saucony’s GRID technology was the first running midsole to ever offer both cushioning and stability which helped stop pronation. In 1987, the shoe company made the first ever technical walking shoe. A couple of years later, it introduced the CROSSPORT, a crosstrainer and sneaker in one.
Saucony Flight was the first sneaker to have been equipped with the EVA dual density midsole. This new technology allows the shoe to have both soft and firm midsole. Thus, it provides more rigidity to the runner’s instep.
