Adidas Calls on Runners to Spread How Running Changes Lives

Every runner has their own stories on how this simple fitness activity has changed their lives. While there are many reasons why these people started to run, such as to be fit and healthy, the general consensus is that running has enriched their quality of life.

Athlete Jules Aquino and beauty queen Christine Balaguer may lead different lives, but they found passion in running. For them, running transforms lives and they want other runners to share the beauty of this sport.

Inspiring Others to Run

Jules is the team captain of Adidas Runners Manila, a community-based group that promotes friendship, personal growth and fitness through running. Growing up he said running was one of the least activities he liked to do as a kid, but realized later in life about all the benefits that running presents.

“Eventually, track & field became my main sport. In a sport that mostly celebrates individuals, I felt closer to my teammates then, than in any other sport. Being the athlete I am today has presented me many opportunities in the Philippines that I’m so grateful for. What’s crazy is I’m more motivated to run more too,” said Aquino.

Meanwhile, Christine frequents beauty contests, an obstacle racer and an international dragon boat racing champion who does not allow her hearing disability from reaching her dreams.

“I owe my strength and endurance to my love for running marathons and soccer.” Sports provides an outlet to release her frustrations, as well as a way to show the capabilities of the hearing impaired,” said Balaguer.

Jules, Christine Shares Adidas UltraBoost 19 Experience

Jules and Christine were two of the guests during the Adidas Recode Running Festival held last March 16 at the Late Night? Bar in BGC, Taguig. The two shared their personal experiences in running and their opinion on Adidas’ newest offering- the UltraBoost 19.

Adidas also held a story writing contest wherein participants have to share how running have changed their lives for the better. Five winners were selected each receiving a pair of the latest UltraBoost kicks.

The brand’s leading neutral performance running shoes has been upgraded and re-designed for its 2019 release. Gathering inputs and feedback from partner runners around the world, the designers of the UB19 has made it lighter without losing its high performance persona.

The new design focuses on four crucial components, namely:

  • An optimized BOOST wherein they added 20-percent more BOOST materials in the midsole for the shoe to generate more energy return at each step
  • Addition of a torsion spring construction which allows a snappy transition to drive runners forward and provides extra support when they land.
  • Improved PrimeKnit 360 now covers more parts of the shoe while providing the same second skin-like comfort as its previous editions.
  • Updated 3D Heel Frame replaces its predecessor’s heel counter for a complete mix of support and adaptability.

The Adidas UltraBoost retails for PhP 9,300 and is available at any Adidas store near you. You can also purchase it online via https://www.adidas.com.ph/ultraboost19.
