Run for a Reason: Takbo.ph partners with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency

Takbo.ph has inked a partnership with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in the Philippines in support of the 2 Billion Kilometers to Safety Campaign, which is a global movement to run, walk or cycle in solidarity with the world’s refugees.

“Through our running platform, we are happy to help raise awareness of the plight that refugees face today”, Jinoe Gavan, the founder of takbo.ph, said.

The campaign challenges participants from across the globe to collectively cover 2 billion kilometres – the distance that refugees travel every year to reach the first point of safety. Families and individuals who are forced to flee violence and persecution make extraordinary efforts to survive.
