Nike React Infinity Run: Shoe Review
The Nike React Infinity Run is my go-to shoe for speed runs. It’s a lightweight shoe and has excellent energy return properties. I am excited with my speed runs these past weeks because I wanted to know how fast I can take these shoes. And despite pushing myself week after week, I only logged the miles and not the injuries.
I have used the shoes for more than a month already. I have used it for 5KM short runs and 16KM+ long runs. I have used it on the treadmill and on the road. Here’s my review of the Nike React Infinity Run.
PROs
Responsive and Bouncy. I have been running at a faster pace than I am used to with the Nike React Infinity Run. I like the bounce of the shoe from its React Foam. It really helps me maintain my speed even in longer distances. The weight and the comfort of the shoe just makes me want to speed up. I am excited to wear this on a race day and see how much faster I can go.
Better fit. It’s sizing is more accurate compared to my previous Nike Epic React. This translate to a better fit of the shoe. The foot base is intentionally wider to improve on its stability. This is ideal for a runners with wide foot width. If you your foot is not that wide, you might find the toebox to roomy though.
Comfortable Flyknit Upper. The Nike Flyknit upper is one of my favorite materials. It is thin and wraps around my foot like a sock.
CONs
Little Support at the Medial Side. I can feel my foot rolling too much inward when I make turns around a corner. It feels like the shoe will fall off. To counter this, I need to slow down a little when I take a turn.
NIKE REACT INFINITY RUN SHOE REVIEW SUMMARY
The Nike React Infinity Run is great for everyday training. It is best for normal pronators. I find it to be a great everyday shoe that I can use for both short tempo runs and long runs. I wear it especially for my speed workouts.
It’s the bouncy and thick midsole that makes it great for long runs. My legs don’t feel tired after running more than 10 miles even with some elevation on the route. The cushioning makes it ideal for heavy runners too.
Nike React Infinity Run claims to reduce injuries rate by 52%. I did not experience any discomfort nor pain for a month of wearing the shoes. I always feel great after the run. But being injury-free still boils down to the runner getting the right shoe and following a training plan.
The Nike React Infinity Run is now available at Nike Stores and retails for 8,095 PHP.
