Under Armour HOVR Machina: The Highly Advanced Footwear

Under Armour Philippines has just launched the new Hovr Machina. It’s the most advanced running shoe from Under Armour. The Hovr Machina combines the technology of real-time form coaching, the speed of a racing shoe and the comfort of a long-distance trainer.

I was able to test the shoes during the Hovr Machina press launch. My first impression is that it is a well cushioned shoe. It starts out a bit stiff which maybe due to the carbon-filled Pebax speed plate built in the shoe. But once I started running, there is a good bounce and energy return provided by the carbon plate. I may need to break in the shoe longer before taking it for longer distances.

The real-time coaching is a great feature. The shoe quickly connects with the UA MapMyRun app. The stats provided after the run were very informative. It also provides a guide on how to interpret the data and how you can improve in your runs.
