R.O.X. Hosts “Train for the Trail” Workshop for Trail Run Novices
R.O.X. Philippines held a successful “Train for the Trail” workshop on Saturday, April 22, at their store in Bonifacio High Street, BGC, Taguig. The half-day event attracted dozens of beginner trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts, eager to learn more about the sport and try their hand at trail running.
Train for the Trail Guest Speakers and Expert Insights
Guest speakers included Coach Adrian Mok, a distinguished trail runner and triathlete from Singapore, who shared valuable insights on preparing for trail races and the best gear for newcomers to the sport.
Renowned fitness coaches and Salomon athletes Coach Miguel Lopez and Coach Majo Liao, who have won various trail races in the Philippines for over a decade, discussed other aspects of trail running and how it differs from road races.
Trail Running in BGC Greenway
Following the informative lectures, attendees were given the opportunity to experience trail running firsthand by hitting the nearby BGC Greenway.
Coach Mok led the warm-up exercises to help strengthen the body and prepare it for the trails. Attendees were divided into three groups, with each group assigned a dedicated coach for guidance and support.
Train for the trail participants practiced various running techniques they had learned from the guest speakers through a series of drills. Although the trail running practice was brief, the hot temperature on that day added an element of challenge for the participants.
Introducing the R.O.X. Community Platform
The event also served as the introduction of the R.O.X. Community, a platform dedicated to the local outdoor scene. The platform features articles with tips on various outdoor activities and allows registered users to access rewards and discounts by completing simple tasks, such as reading articles or scanning QR codes.
Post-Event Activities and Raffle Prizes
In addition to the educational and hands-on components of the event, participants were treated to a complimentary lunch provided by Outdoor Gringos and Kaulayaw Coffee.
The organizers also held a raffle, with two lucky attendees winning slots for the upcoming Salomon Xtrail Run on May 7 in Samal Island, Davao, and one participant winning a pair of Salomon shoes.
