Coach Jules Aquino Shares Berlin Marathon Experience with ADIZERO PRIME X 2 STRUNG

Celebrated adidas Runners Manila (aRM) Coach, Jules Aquino, recently wrapped up an impressive run at the iconic Berlin Marathon. The highlight, aside from his stellar performance, was his choice of footwear: the ADIZERO PRIME X 2 STRUNG.

“I felt that they were much better than the PRIME X… the PRIME X 2 STRUNG tech made my runs easier and faster,” he said.

Championing Innovation and Performance

Coach Jules’ decision to opt for this particular shoe was not just a whim. He got his hands on the ADIZERO PRIME X 2 STRUNG just a week before the race, but the difference in performance was palpable. The shoe’s technology stood out, particularly the Strung upper.

“With regard to the Strung upper, its layered strengthening… allowed for ease when I took on the track.” He added, “I didn’t feel anything about the upper… that’s exactly what you want,” he elaborated.

Adidas Tech: Pushing Boundaries

The ADIZERO PRIME X 2 STRUNG, as described by Coach Jules, is a “strong manifestation of innovation upon innovation.”

This shoe was not without its controversies, though. Designed with a 50mm stack height and a double carbon-infused plate system, it was labeled “illegal” for elite competition.

Explaining the specifics, Aquino mentioned, “Runners may not compete with shoes that exceed a stack height of 40mm… the ADIZERO PRIME X 2 STRUNG was designed without such constraints.” However, he also clarified that this model is still permitted in local races.

While the shoe has garnered attention for its advanced features, it may not be for everyone. Aquino provided some insights, advising, “I would recommend it to intermediate and more seasoned runners.” The reason being, “Beginner runners might not have enough leg strength to really power down into the ground and maximize the shoe’s potential.” For novices, he suggests the ADIZERO Boston 12.

Representing aRM Community

Aquino’s run was not just about personal achievement; it was also about representing Adidas Runners Manila (aRM) on an international platform.

He reflected on this responsibility and said, “Having represented aRM in this race has inspired me to run more and do better!”

Aquino emphasized the strong sense of community within aRM, noting how it comprises a “diverse bunch” that welcomes everyone. His Berlin Marathon journey was symbolic of this spirit, marking a significant win for the entire community.

The Road Ahead

With the Berlin Marathon behind him, Aquino has his eyes set on the future. He shared his plans, saying, “I’ll be joining the Hong Kong Marathon in January 2024 for my first 21K race… I’m hoping to do another full 42K at the Seoul Marathon 2024.” Even though the Berlin Marathon wasn’t his personal best, Aquino expressed no regrets, affirming that it was an “amazing experience.”
