adidas Unveils New Supernova Running Shoes

adidas introduces the revamped SUPERNOVA franchise, launching the first of its three new silhouettes – SUPERNOVA RISE. The unveiling event was held at the newly revamped “Home of Sport” store of adidas in Two Parkage in BGC.

The new running shoe, available in specific designs for both women and men, aims to provide maximum comfort for everyday runners. SUPERNOVA RISE hits the market today, December 1, 2023, followed by SUPERNOVA SOLUTION and SUPERNOVA STRIDE, debuting on February 15, 2024.

Key Features of the New Supernova Running Shoes

• Dreamstrike+ Midsole: A newly designed super-foam, inspired by the LIGHTSTRIKE PRO used in the ADIZERO franchise. It offers unparalleled comfort and cushioning, forming the entirety of the midsole in the SUPERNOVA RISE and SUPERNOVA SOLUTION, and is combined with an EVA compound midsole in the forefoot of the SUPERNOVA STRIDE.
• Support Rod System: Inspired by foot physiology, this technology provides harmonized support and transition. It differs slightly in the SUPERNOVA SOLUTION for additional support.
• Comfort Heel Fit: Combines cushioning foam and soft textile for maximum comfort and support.
• Engineered Sandwich Mesh: Accommodates all runners’ needs with expertly crafted details.
• Unique Colorway: The SUPERNOVA RISE features a Black and Aurora base with Semi-Green Spark details, inspired by the energy of bioluminescence.

Research and Development Insights

adidas’ Product and Design teams conducted extensive research, including a study with 1,300 female runners, to understand the needs and demands of everyday runners. Comfort emerged as a top priority in running shoe selection. This research shaped the design and technology integration in the new SUPERNOVA silhouettes, leveraging advancements from other adidas Running franchises.

“We are very excited to introduce a totally new chapter of the Supernova franchise – our everyday running shoes. The driving motivation behind revamping the Supernova was to enable more people to run, more of the time,” said JT Newcomb, Category Director, adidas Running Footwear.

“When we listened to what was important to the everyday running community it was comfort that stood out and we’ve focused our efforts on creating a range of shoes that deliver that benefit in a way we are sure all runners will love,” he added.

Availability and Pricing

The SUPERNOVA RISE is priced at PHP 7500 and will be available exclusively via selected retail partners. Meanwhile, the SUPERNOVA SOLUTION and SUPERNOVA STRIDE will see wider distribution starting February 15, 2024.
