adidas Adizero Dominates Paris Wins

As the world’s largest sporting event concludes, adidas proudly announces that athletes sporting footwear from the adizero collection have secured more gold medals in the 800m and sprint events and more podium finishes in marathon distances than any other brand. The adizero line has now established itself as adidas’ most successful footwear collection in its 75-year history of high-performance innovation.

Dominance in Sprint and Mid-Distance Races

In the fastest events, such as the 800m and sprint distances, adidas athletes wearing adizero secured 5 out of 12 gold medals, surpassing all other competitors. This remarkable performance includes victories in the men’s 100m, men’s 110m Hurdle, and both the men’s and women’s 400m, as well as the men’s 800m. Notably, in men’s sprint distances of 400m and below, adizero athletes claimed 60% of all possible gold positions in individual events.

These achievements were powered by adizero Prime SP 3 Strung and adizero Prime SP 3 Strung x Y3 spikes, including a customized pair worn by Noah Lyles in his electrifying 100m win. These spikes feature advanced adidas technologies, such as the Lightstrike Pro in the forefoot for superior cushioning and responsiveness, and the Strung upper for cocoon-like comfort and support.

Marathon Successes for Adizero Athletes

Adizero also had a significant impact on the marathon events, with athletes winning 50% of the gold medals and securing 50% of all podium spots. This includes Tamirat Tola’s record-setting time of 2:06:26, Tigist Assafa’s silver medal on the final day, and Benson Kipruto’s bronze finish. These results build on a strong season for adizero athletes, with notable victories in London, Boston, and Tokyo earlier this year.
