adidas ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 Now Available Online and in BGC Outlet
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Adidas has launched its most advanced and lightest racing shoe ever, the ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1. Weighing just 138 grams, the shoe is 40% lighter than any other racing supershoe in Adidas’ history. This innovation-packed footwear is now available for purchase online and in select stores.
With a focus on lighter design, the ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 aims to enhance speed, improve running economy, and boost energy return. “The ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 is our own ‘Impossible is Nothing’ story,” said Patrick Nava, VP Product, Running & Credibility Sports at Adidas. “We set ourselves the goal to create a racing shoe packed with the technology ambitious runners have come to love in the ADIZERO franchise, but at a weight we’ve never seen before at Adidas.”
Innovative Features and Technology
The ADIZERO Adios Pro Evo 1 incorporates state-of-the-art technology, including a revamped geometry with a unique forefoot rocker placed at 60% of the shoe’s length. This feature, which has been extensively tested in Adidas labs, is designed to create forward momentum and improve running efficiency.
The shoe also includes Adidas’ latest material advancements:
- REVOLUTIONIZED LIGHTSTRIKE PRO Foam: Utilizing a non-compression molding process, the new LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam reduces weight significantly while maximizing energy return. The shoe’s construction has been further optimized by removing the sockliner, enhancing its lightweight nature.
- Advanced Outsole and Upper: A new lightweight outsole technology offers optimal traction at a reduced weight. The shoe’s upper is made of an ultra-light mesh material, complementing the overall minimalist design approach.
Insights From Elite Athletes
Adidas developed the shoe with input from top athletes, including Olympic champion Peres Jepchirchir, two-time Major Marathon winner Benson Kipruto, German national champion Amanal Petros, and Berlin Marathon winner Tigist Assefa. These insights were gathered during training camps in Kenya and at Adidas’ headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany.
Tigist Assefa expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “This is the lightest racing shoe I have ever worn, and the feeling of running in them is an incredible experience – like nothing I’ve felt before. They enable me to put my full focus on the race, which is exactly what you want as an athlete. I feel ready to defend my title in Berlin and can’t wait to lace up at the start line in these.”
