adidas’ Adizero franchise emerged as the leader in competitive running footwear in 2024, claiming 51% of top 50 track and road race victories. This achievement cements Adizero’s place as the go-to shoe for elite athletes, surpassing all other brands in the industry.
Adizero’s Milestone Achievements in 2024
Since the Adizero Adios Pro series launched in 2020, it has powered more World Marathon Major victories than any other brand. In 2024, Adizero athletes shattered seven world records across road and track events, showcasing the franchise’s unmatched performance capabilities.

Double World Records in Valencia
Agnes Ngetich set two world records at the Valencia 10k, wearing the Adizero Takumi Sen 9. She clocked 28:46, becoming the first woman to break the 29-minute barrier in a road 10k. Additionally, she broke the 5k record with a split of 14:13, six seconds faster than the previous mark.
London Marathon Triumph
Peres Jepchirchir captured the women-only world record at the London Marathon, finishing in 2:16:16. This marked the sixth victory out of seven World Major Marathons for Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 wearers since its introduction.
Marathon Dominance in Paris and Valencia
Tamirat Tola won the Paris Olympic men’s marathon in a course-record time of 2:06.26, while Yomif Kejelcha set a men’s half marathon world record in Valencia with a time of 57:30. Both athletes wore the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1.
Emanuel Wanyonyi’s Double Record Feat
At the Adizero: Road to Records event, Emanuel Wanyonyi set a new road mile record of 3:54.56 in the Takumi Sen 10. He followed this with a historic 800m victory at the Paris 2024 Olympics, clocking 1:41.19 in the Adizero Ambition spikes to become the third-fastest man over that distance.
On the same day, Agnes Ngetich debuted in the half marathon distance, recording the second-fastest time ever by a woman (63:04) in the Adizero Takumi Sen 9.
Closing the Year with Historic Wins
Sheila Chepkirui became the first athlete to win a World Marathon Major wearing the Adizero Adios Pro 4, taking the New York Marathon title. A month later, Sabastian Sawe delivered the fifth-fastest marathon time ever (2:02:05) to win the Valencia Marathon in his debut, wearing the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1.
