MILO Marathon Showcases Inclusivity; 300 Athletes with Disabilities Joins Pasay Leg

Thousands of athletes from diverse backgrounds participated in the Manila leg of the National MILO® Marathon 2025, demonstrating the event’s growing commitment to inclusivity. Over 300 athletes with disabilities joined the competition.

The marathon provided a platform for runners of all skill levels while reinforcing MILO®’s mission to fuel champions and make sports accessible to everyone.

Special Olympics and Deaf School Athletes Highlight Inclusivity Efforts

Athletes from the Philippine School for the Deaf (PSD) and Special Olympics Pilipinas (SOP) participated prominently in the event, showcasing determination and resilience throughout the race.

“Running with my family allowed me to bond with them while also helping me become more patient and focused. It also helps me manage stress,” shared Alliyah, a student from PSD.

Fellow PSD student Joshua emphasized the empowerment he experienced, saying, “Sports help me develop myself, exercise more, and continue to persevere. I encourage others to join, be more patient, and enjoy the experience.”

MILO Strengthens Commitment to Inclusive Sports Opportunities

MILO® is expanding its partnership with Special Olympics Pilipinas to create more inclusive sporting events in the future.

Carlo Sampan, Head of MILO® Sports, stated, “Sports teach discipline, grit, and teamwork—values that extend far beyond the track. At MILO®, we believe that active kids are better learners, and we are committed to breaking barriers so that every child, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to play, grow, and thrive through sports.”

Long-Term Mission to Develop Filipino Athletes

For decades, MILO® has developed sports programs that let young athletes discover their potential and overcome challenges in their respective disciplines.

The brand continues to make sports more accessible through both grassroots programs and national events like the MILO® Marathon.

This year’s National MILO® Marathon aims to welcome all participants regardless of ability, promoting it as a nationwide movement celebrating perseverance rather than just a race.

Information about upcoming races is available on the official MILO® website and social media accounts.
