16th Makiling Challenge 2025

16th Makiling Challenge 2025 will be on May 18, 2025 at E.B. Copeland Gymnasium, University of the Philippines Los Baños, Barangay Batong Malake, Los Baños, Laguna.

Makiling Challenge XVI: Build and Hone, Enter the Zone! is the latest installment of the longest-running provincial foot race organized by a student organization—the Makiling Challenge by the Makiling Campus Runners of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). Taking place on May 18, 2025, this highly anticipated event will start at the EB Copeland Gymnasium and take runners through UPLB’s major roads, ascending to BSP Jamboree and the UPLB Forestry. This year’s race champions physical fitness, mental resilience, and environmental awareness while supporting the Los Baños initiative for sports development and tourism. Participants will tackle a challenging yet scenic route, drawing athletes and running enthusiasts from various universities, colleges, athletic groups, and clubs across CALABARZON and NCR. Beyond competition, the Makiling Challenge is dedicated to fostering camaraderie among runners and generating funds for two significant projects: Phase 1 of the UPLB Fitness Zone, an infrastructure project aimed at creating a sustainable and accessible space for health and wellness. Financial support for the UPLB Athletics Team, helping cover their immediate needs and upcoming competitions. With race categories designed for varying skill levels, exciting prizes, and the opportunity to be part of a historic student-led running event, Makiling Challenge XVI continues its legacy as a premier road race that celebrates perseverance, community, and well-being.
