We have seen a lot of our favorite TV and movie stars who are into running.  Now, here is your chance to be the next big "star" in a race.  Philstar.com, the online arm of The STAR Group of Publications, is inviting everyone to join its first running event, Celebrity Run 2009, at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Registration for the Celebrity Run is 350 Php  for 3/5/10K and 450Php for the 21K.  Registration is from Aug. 24 to Oct. 9 at Rox and Second Wind outlets. You can download the registration here.

Special prizes await the top three runners in the male and female divisions of the 3-kilometer, 5-kilometer, and 10-kilometer races. 
 
In the 21-kilometer race, two winners will be chosen (one male and one female) in each of the five divisions: 18-25 years old, 26-30 years old, 31-29 years old, Male (40 and above) and Female (35 and above).
 
Runners are invited to run as their favorite celebrity. More prizes await those who come in costumes. Three participants will be named Best in costume (Celebrity Look-a-like).

The project will help fund the computerization projects for Philippine public high schools under the GILAS (Gearing up Internet Literacy and Access for Students) program. Gilas is a multi-sectoral initiative composed mainly of corporations and non-profit institutions spearheaded by the Ayala Foundation.
